Adapter cable converting internal U.FL (IPEX) ports to an RP-SMA Male connector. 15cm flexible 1.13mm coax cable. Features Internal Threads with Center Hole. Ideal for connecting modules to Routers or RP-SMA Female jacks.
Connect Your Module Directly to Female Ports. Standard pigtails are designed to hold an antenna. But what if you need to plug your WiFi module into a router's antenna port or an extension cable? This U.FL (IPEX) to RP-SMA Male Connector Cable is the answer. It features an RP-SMA Male Plug (Internal Threads + Center Hole), which mates perfectly with the RP-SMA Female ports found on WiFi Routers, PCI cards, and RF extension cables.
Technical Precision: The "Hole" Truth
RP-SMA Male: In the "Reverse Polarity" standard, the Male connector has threads on the inside but a Hole (Female contact) in the center.
Compatibility: This cable plugs into RP-SMA Female connectors (which have External threads + Pin).
Not for Antennas: This cable will NOT connect to a standard WiFi antenna (as antennas are also RP-SMA Male).
Connector A: U.FL (IPEX 1 / MHF1) Female
Connector B: RP-SMA Male (Internal Threads, Center Hole)
Cable Type: 1.13mm Micro Coaxial
Impedance: 50 Ohms
Length: 15 cm
Frequency Range: DC to 6 GHz
Insulation: FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene)
Signal Testing: Connect an ESP32 or WiFi module directly to a Spectrum Analyzer or Router port (via adapter if needed).
Extension: Connect a module to a long RP-SMA Extension cable (which usually has a Female end).
Packet Injection: Specialized setups where a module needs to act as the antenna source for a Female-connector device.
⚠️ Gender Check:
RP-SMA Male (This Cable): Has a Hole. Fits into a jack with a Pin (RP-SMA Female).
Standard SMA Male: Has a Pin. Fits into a jack with a Hole (SMA Female).
Usage Rule: Check your target device. If it has a PIN sticking out, you need this cable.
What's Included:
1 x U.FL (IPEX) to RP-SMA Male Connector Cable (15cm)
Compatible Upgrades:
Adapter: RP-SMA Female to SMA Male Adapter (to convert it to standard SMA).
Cable: RP-SMA Extension Cable (Male to Female).
Will this connect to my WiFi Antenna? NO. Most WiFi antennas have an RP-SMA Male connector (just like this cable). You cannot connect Male to Male. You need the Bulkhead Female version for antennas.
Does the RP-SMA connector have a pin or a hole? This is RP-SMA Male, so it has a HOLE in the center.
Will this fit a WiFi Router antenna port? YES. WiFi Routers typically have RP-SMA Female ports (Pin + Ext Threads). This cable (Hole + Int Threads) will screw directly onto the router.
What is the use case for this? Connecting a module to a router, connecting to an extension cable, or specific RF testing setups.
Is the cable 1.13mm? Yes, standard flexible 1.13mm coax.
Will this fit M.2 WiFi cards? No, M.2 cards use IPEX 4 (MHF4). This is IPEX 1.
Is it compatible with ESP32? Yes, ESP32 modules use IPEX 1.
Can I use this for GSM? Only if your GSM equipment uses RP-SMA (rare). GSM usually uses Standard SMA.
Is the connector rotating? The nut rotates, the body is fixed.
What is the impedance? 50 Ohms.
Is it waterproof? No.
Can I use this for 5.8GHz? Yes.
Is the wire shielded? Yes.
Does it come with a nut/washer? No, this is a Plug, not a Bulkhead jack. It does not mount to a panel.
Can I extend it? Yes, with an RP-SMA Female to Male extension.
Is the contact gold plated? Yes.
What if I need to connect to an SMA Female device? You need an adapter (RP-SMA Female to SMA Male).
Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi Zero? Yes (if modded with U.FL).
Why is it called "Male" if it has a hole? In Reverse Polarity (RP) naming, the gender is reversed. The threads are Male (Internal), but the contact is Female (Hole).
Can I use this to connect two modules together? No, unless you have a Female-to-Female coupler.
