The Amass XT30PW-F is the specific version of the famous XT30 connector designed for direct PCB mounting. Unlike the standard wire-type connectors that require awkward pigtails, this unit features stiff, 90-degree bent legs that slot directly into your circuit board. This "Horizontal" design keeps your power lead flat against the PCB, reducing the overall height of your stack—critical for compact drones and robotics.
High Current, Low Resistance Despite its tiny footprint, the XT30PW handles 15A continuous current and up to 30A bursts. The gold-plated copper contacts ensure minimal voltage drop, making it perfect for powering Flight Controllers, Power Distribution Boards (PDBs), and ESCs from 2S-4S LiPo batteries.
Note: These are XT30 connectors with true and accurate power ratings. There are numerous connectors available with incorrect ratings, and most look the same. Use original connectors for true ratings.

Soldering: The large pins dissipate heat quickly. Use a soldering iron set to 350°C - 380°C and work fast (2-3 seconds max) to avoid melting the yellow plastic housing.
Polarity: The connector is keyed (flat side/rounded side) to prevent reverse polarity. Double-check your PCB footprint before soldering!
Mechanical Strength: The two small "legs" on the side are for mechanical stability only—they do not carry current. Solder them securely to keep the connector form ripping off the board.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is this the Female or Male connector? This is the Female version. It has metal Sockets (holes) inside the housing. It does not have pins.
Can I use this to plug in my drone battery? No. Standard LiPo batteries also have Female connectors. You cannot plug Female into Female. To plug in a battery, you need the XT30PW-M (Male) version.
So what is this Female version used for? It is typically used as a Power Output on a device (like a power supply output) or mounted on a Battery PCB to create the battery's connector.
Does it mate with standard XT30 connectors? Yes, it mates perfectly with any standard XT30 Male plug (the one with pins).
What does "PW" stand for? "PW" stands for PCB/Power. It indicates the connector has stiff, angled legs for through-hole PCB mounting, rather than solder cups for wires.
Can I solder wires to this instead of mounting it on a PCB? Technically you can, but it is difficult and not recommended. The legs are short and lack cups to hold the solder/wire. Use the standard XT30-F for wire connections.
What is the continuous current rating? It is rated for 15 Amps continuous airflow.
What is the burst current rating? It can handle short bursts of up to 30 Amps.
What is the maximum voltage? It is rated for up to 500V DC, but typically used with 2S-4S LiPo (7.4V - 16.8V).
Do the small side legs carry electricity? No. The two small legs on the sides are purely for mechanical stability. They should be soldered to the PCB to prevent the connector from breaking off, but they are not electrically connected to the positive/negative pins.
What is the spacing of the power pins? The pitch (spacing) between the two main power pins is approximately 5.0mm.
Is there a "Straight" version of this? Yes, the straight vertical version is usually called "XT30PW-F-Vertical". This listing is for the 90-degree Right Angle version.
Why is the connector Yellow? Yellow is the standard trademark color for high-current XT-series connectors (Amass standard).
Is it polarized? Yes, the housing shape (one side flat, one side rounded) physically prevents you from plugging it in backward (Reverse Polarity Protection).
What happens if I hold the soldering iron too long? The nylon housing can soften, causing the pins to shift or tilt. Tip: Plug a mating Male connector into it while soldering. This holds the pins in the correct alignment while the plastic cools.
Is it waterproof? No, it is an open connector.
Can I use this for 220V AC? No. Do not use XT connectors for mains voltage. They are designed for low-voltage DC applications only.
What footprint should I use in my PCB design software? Search for "XT30PW Right Angle Footprint". Most libraries (KiCad, Eagle, EasyEDA) have it.
Will this fit a 20x20mm Flight Controller? It depends on the specific board layout, but the footprint is small enough to fit on many compact boards.
Can I use this with an XT60 plug? No, XT60 is much larger. This only mates with XT30 (Male) connectors.
