Compact Powerhouse for Serious Development At the heart of the Tang Primer 25K lies the Gowin GW5A-LV25MG121, a powerful FPGA featuring 23,040 Logic Elements (LUT4) and 23,040 registers. The core board itself is ultra-compact, measuring just 23x18mm, and interfaces with the Dock baseboard using a high-speed 2x60P BTB connector. This dual-board architecture allows you to prototype your logic with the Dock and later embed just the tiny core module into your own volume-restricted custom PCB designs.
Versatile Expansion and Interfaces The Dock baseboard transforms the bare FPGA chip into a fully usable laboratory evaluation kit. It features three standard PMOD connectors for quick expansion with simple modules like HDMI, gamepads, or LEDs. For higher-bandwidth applications, it provides a 40-pin header (2x20 pin) specifically designed for attaching complex peripherals like external SDRAM memory modules or dual DVP cameras. Additionally, a USB Type-A port acts as a USB 1.1 Host, allowing you to interface directly with standard HID devices like game controllers for retro gaming projects.
