Ultra-Slow Rotation for Maximum Torque While many motors focus on speed, the JGY-370 2 RPM variant is all about raw, slow-moving power. By utilizing a massive internal gear reduction ratio, this motor converts the high-speed spinning of the 12V internal coils into a glacial output of just 2 Revolutions Per Minute (meaning it takes 30 seconds to complete a single full circle). This makes it unparalleled for applications requiring slow, steady movement against heavy resistance, such as turning large valves or rotating heavy display stands.
The Self-Locking Worm Drive Like its faster siblings, this motor uses a perpendicular worm drive mechanism. The physics of this design ensure that the output shaft cannot be manually back-driven. When you remove the 12V power source, the motor acts as a solid mechanical brake. If you are using this motor to hoist a heavy window or lift a platform, the self-locking gear ensures the load will never crash down when the power cuts out.

What is the operating voltage for this motor? This motor is optimized to run on a 12V DC power supply.
How fast does 2 RPM actually spin? 2 RPM stands for 2 Revolutions Per Minute. This means the shaft takes a full 30 seconds to complete just one 360-degree rotation. It is extremely slow.
Does this motor have more torque than the 90 RPM version? Yes, massively more. Because the gear reduction is so much higher to achieve 2 RPM, it multiplies the torque output significantly compared to faster models.
What size is the output shaft? The shaft has a 6mm outer diameter.
What does "D-Shape" mean? The cylindrical shaft has an 11.5mm long flat section machined into it (resembling the letter "D"), preventing wheels or pulleys from slipping when a set screw is tightened against it.
Is this motor self-locking? Yes. Due to the inherent friction of the worm gear design, the output shaft cannot be easily rotated by hand when the motor is off.
Can I reverse the direction of rotation? Yes. By simply swapping the positive and negative connections on your 12V power supply, the motor will spin in the opposite direction.
What size mounting screws do I need? The gearbox face accepts standard metric M3 machine screws.
What is the spacing between the mounting holes? The four M3 holes are spaced 18mm apart horizontally and 33mm apart vertically.
How long is the actual shaft? The protruding shaft is 15mm long in total.
Can I run this motor on 5V? Yes, a 12V DC motor will spin on 5V, but it will run at less than 1 RPM and produce significantly less torque.
Is this motor waterproof? No, the metal housing and the rear solder terminals are completely exposed. It must be protected in an enclosure if used outdoors.
Can I control the speed of this motor? Yes, using a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) speed controller, you can slow it down even further than 2 RPM, though it may stall if dialed too low under a heavy load.
How do I connect wires to this motor? There are two metal tabs on the rear of the cylindrical motor body. You will need to use a soldering iron to attach your positive and negative wires to these tabs.
Does the motor come with wires attached? No, it ships with bare solder terminals.
What is the diameter of the cylindrical motor body? The round motor section has a diameter of 24.4mm.
What is the total length of the motor and gearbox? Combined, the unit is roughly 76.8mm long (46mm for the gearbox + 30.8mm for the motor body).
Can I manually turn the shaft to adjust my project when it's off? No. Because it is a worm gear with a massive reduction ratio, forcing the shaft to turn by hand will immediately strip and destroy the internal gears. You must use electricity to move it.
Will this work for a DIY RC car? No, 2 RPM is far too slow for any kind of wheeled vehicle. This is meant for lifting, panning, or slow-turning displays.
What type of coupling do I need to attach an arm or wheel? You should use a 6mm rigid flange coupling or a 6mm flexible shaft coupler that features a set screw to clamp down securely on the flat D-shaft profile.

Ordered a couple of times, Bad Experience. They charge premium delivery fee but delivery will not happen on time(every time). And the resopnce after sales on the issues such as delivery is slow and not friendly. If you can take the delivery at your own risk, and liesure you can order.

One key area that needs attention is training employees on how to deal with customers professionally and respectfully. No business starts with bulk orders—every relationship begins small and grows with trust. I had some plans to collaborate when I visited your facility, but unfortunately, due to the way I was treated, I decided not to proceed with any future business plans. I believe this is not a reflection of the owner, but rather an issue with employee conduct. Proper training and customer handling can significantly improve business growth and reputation.
