Capture everything in sight with ultra-wide 8-Megapixel vision. The IMX219 160° Camera Module is engineered for makers who cannot afford to have blind spots in their projects. Utilizing the highly supported Sony IMX219 sensor, this module captures high-resolution still images at 3280 x 2464 pixels and smooth 1080p video. The defining feature is its massive 160-degree Field of View (FOV), which acts as a fisheye lens, allowing a single camera to monitor almost an entire room, dashboard, or outdoor landscape from a single, fixed position.
Compact Board with Prominent Optics To achieve such an extreme viewing angle, the module features a specialized, elongated lens barrel that protrudes approximately 18mm from the PCB surface. Because the curved glass of a fisheye lens is susceptible to scratching, this module thoughtfully includes a custom-fit black protective lens cap for safe storage and transport. The PCB itself remains perfectly compact, maintaining the standard 25.00mm by 24.00mm footprint with four pre-drilled M2 mounting holes for drop-in compatibility with existing 3D printed cases.
Seamless Hardware Integration The board features a standard 15-pin MIPI CSI-2 connector. It communicates via high-speed differential data lanes (CP/CN, P1/N1, P2/N2) and standard I2C control lines (SDA/SCL). It is natively plug-and-play with the Raspberry Pi 4B and 3B series. To harness the advanced image signal processor of the new Raspberry Pi 5 or the compact size of the Pi Zero, simply connect it using a standard 15-pin to 22-pin CSI adapter cable.

What is the maximum resolution of this camera? It features an 8 Megapixel sensor capable of capturing still images at 3280 x 2464 pixels.
What does "160° FOV" mean? It has a 160-degree Field of View. This is an ultra-wide angle, often called a "fisheye" lens, which captures a massive amount of the surrounding area horizontally and vertically.
Will a 160-degree lens cause image distortion? Yes. A lens this wide inherently produces significant barrel distortion, making straight lines near the edges of the frame appear curved.
Can the fisheye distortion be fixed? Yes, you can use software libraries like OpenCV to calculate a calibration matrix and digitally "de-warp" the image to make the lines straight again.
Is this compatible with the Raspberry Pi 5? Yes! However, the Raspberry Pi 5 uses a smaller 22-pin CSI port, so you must use a 15-pin to 22-pin adapter cable.
What is the black plastic circle included in the photo? That is a protective lens cap. Because the fisheye lens glass protrudes outward, the cap protects it from scratches when not in use.
What are the dimensions of the circuit board? The PCB is exactly 25.00mm wide by 24.00mm high.
How far does the lens stick out? The lens barrel extends approximately 18.00mm from the surface of the circuit board.
Does it have auto-focus? No, this module features a fixed-focus fisheye lens. Ultra-wide lenses naturally have an enormous depth of field, keeping almost everything from a few inches away to infinity in focus.
Can I record video with it? Yes, it supports video recording at 1080p30, 720p60, and VGA90 resolutions natively through the Pi.
What does Pin 1 do on the ribbon cable? Pin 1 accepts the 3.3V to 5V power supply from the Raspberry Pi.
What are the SDA and SCL pins used for? Pins 2 and 3 are the I2C communication lines used by the Pi to configure camera registers, such as exposure time and sensor gain.
Does this camera capture audio? No, standard MIPI CSI-2 camera modules do not include microphones. You will need a separate USB microphone.
Do I need to install special drivers? No, the Sony IMX219 is natively supported by the Raspberry Pi OS and works perfectly with the standard libcamera software stack.
Does it have night vision capabilities? No, this is a standard daylight RGB sensor equipped with an IR-cut filter. It cannot see infrared light in the dark.

Can I extend the ribbon cable? You can purchase longer 15-pin FFC cables, but keeping it under 30cm to 50cm is recommended to prevent electromagnetic interference from degrading the image data.

Ordered a couple of times, Bad Experience. They charge premium delivery fee but delivery will not happen on time(every time). And the resopnce after sales on the issues such as delivery is slow and not friendly. If you can take the delivery at your own risk, and liesure you can order.

One key area that needs attention is training employees on how to deal with customers professionally and respectfully. No business starts with bulk orders—every relationship begins small and grows with trust. I had some plans to collaborate when I visited your facility, but unfortunately, due to the way I was treated, I decided not to proceed with any future business plans. I believe this is not a reflection of the owner, but rather an issue with employee conduct. Proper training and customer handling can significantly improve business growth and reputation.
