1. What is the difference between "Blue" and "Ice Blue"?
   "Blue" is a deep, saturated royal blue (Ocean Blue). "Ice Blue" is a lighter, cyan/aqua color (Tron Blue) that appears brighter and more "electric."

2. Does this package include the battery pack?
   No. This listing is for the 1M Wire Only. You must buy an EL Inverter (Driver) separately.

3. How do I power this wire?
   You need an EL Inverter. We sell battery-operated (Coin Cell, 2xAA), USB (5V),  inverters.

4. Can I cut it?
   Yes, you can cut it with scissors at any point. The remaining part attached to the connector will still work.

5. Does it get hot?
   No. EL wire is a "cold light" source, making it safe to touch and wear against skin.

6. Is it waterproof?
   The wire itself is waterproof (IP65). However, the connector and the inverter are NOT and must be protected from water.

7. Why does the driver make a noise?
   The inverter oscillates at a high frequency (approx. 2000Hz) to light the wire. A faint high-pitched whine is normal physics for this technology.

8. Can I extend the wire?
   Yes, but extending it beyond the inverter's capacity may reduce brightness. For 1M, extension is usually fine up to 2-3M total depending on the driver.

9. Can I use it in my car?
   Yes! It is popular for dashboard gaps. Use our 12V EL Inverter to power it from your car's fuse box or cigarette lighter.

10. Is the light bright enough for reading?
    No. EL wire is for decoration and accents. It is not bright enough to illuminate a room like a bulb.

11. How flexible is it?
    It is very flexible, similar to a thick phone charging cable. It can be tied into loose knots.

12. What is the diameter?
    It is 2.3mm thick.

13. Can I glue it?
    Yes, clear superglue (cyanoacrylate) or hot glue works well. Do not use conductive glue.

14. Does it fade in the sun?
    Prolonged exposure to direct UV sunlight can fade the colored PVC jacket over time. It is best for indoor or night use.

15. Can I dim it?
    Standard inverters don't dim. However, varying the input voltage to the inverter (e.g., using a variable DC supply) can adjust brightness slightly.

16. How do I attach it to clothes?
    We recommend using clear fishing line (monofilament) to whip-stitch it onto fabric.

17. Can I run it off an Arduino?
    Not directly. You need to use an inverter, and control the inverter's power using a Relay or TRIAC connected to the Arduino.

18. What if I cut it and want to use the other half?
    You can use the cut-off piece if you solder a new connector to it. This requires precision soldering of the delicate angel wires.

19. Is it safe for pets?
    It is low current, but always prevent pets from chewing on it as the inverter voltage can give a mild shock if bitten through.

20. Does it flicker?
    It provides a steady light. If it flickers, your batteries are likely low.
