• Can I use this with a standard phone charger?
  Yes, provided the charger outputs at least 5V 2A (10W). Old 1A chargers will not provide enough power.
• How cold does the plate get?
  It can reach 10-15°C below ambient temperature, depending on humidity and insulation.
• Does it generate ice?
  In very humid conditions, condensation (water droplets) will form. Ice formation is rare at 5V unless the ambient air is already cool.
• Can I run this 24/7?
  Yes, but the fan lifespan is the limiting factor. We recommend giving it a break every 8 hours.
• Is the cold side waterproof?
  The Peltier plate is sealed, but the wire connections and the fan are NOT waterproof. Condensation must be managed carefully.
• Do I need a battery pack?
  Yes, this kit does not have an internal battery. It needs an external USB power source.
• Can I use a 12V battery?
  NO. Connecting 12V will instantly destroy the 5V Peltier and the Fan.
• Which side is the hot side?
  Usually, the side with the printed model number is the Hot Side, but always test quickly (1 second) before final assembly.
• Can I reverse the polarity for heating?
  Yes, reversing the Red/Black wires on the Peltier will swap the hot and cold sides.
• Does it come assembled?
  This is a DIY Kit. The fan is usually attached to the heatsink, but you must apply paste and wire the module yourself.
• Can I use this to cool a laptop?
  No, laptops generate far more heat than 10W. This is for phones, cameras, or small sensors only.
• What if the fan stops spinning?
  Unplug immediately! The Peltier will overheat and fail if the fan stops.
• Can I control the temperature?
  Not natively. The kit runs at full power. You would need an external PWM controller to adjust the temperature.
• Is thermal paste necessary?
  Absolutely. Without paste, the heat transfer is inefficient, and the cooling performance will be poor.
• How do I attach it to my phone?
  The kit does not include a clamp. You can use double-sided thermal tape or a custom 3D printed clip.
• Will this drain my power bank quickly?
  It draws about 2A. A 10,000mAh power bank will last approximately 3-4 hours.
• Is it loud?
  The fan is relatively quiet, similar to a laptop fan running at medium speed.
• Can I stack two modules?
  Technically yes, but power requirements would double, and heat dissipation becomes very difficult. Not recommended for this kit.
• Does it work with USB-C PD chargers?
  The included module requests standard 5V. It should work with PD chargers, but a simple 5V 2A adapter is most reliable.
• Why isn't it getting cold?
  Check if the fan is spinning fast. Also, ensure the hot side heatsink is not loose. If the heat isn't removed, the cold side won't get cold.
