Global 4G LTE Connectivity When Wi-Fi or LoRa won't cut it, cellular is the answer. The T-SIM7600E-H is dominated by the massive SIMCom SIM7600E-H module. This is a highly advanced LTE Cat-4 module optimized for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Korea, and Thailand. It supports downlink rates up to 150Mbps and uplink rates up to 50Mbps. Whether you are transmitting high-resolution images from a remote security camera or streaming dense JSON telemetry data from a vehicle, this board provides the necessary bandwidth over global cellular networks.
Off-Grid Power Architecture This board is explicitly designed to be deployed and forgotten. The rear of the PCB features a robust, surface-mounted holder for a single 18650 Lithium-Ion battery. But more importantly, the front of the board features a dedicated 2-pin JST connector for a 4.4V - 6V solar panel input. The integrated CN3165 power management chip intelligently handles MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) solar charging, ensuring your 18650 battery is constantly topped up during the day for continuous 24/7 operation.
ESP32 Processing & Precise Telemetry Driving this cellular powerhouse is the trusted Espressif ESP32-WROVER-B module. It provides 4MB of Flash and 8MB of PSRAM, ensuring you have the memory overhead required to buffer large cellular payloads or parse complex GPS strings. Speaking of GPS, the SIM7600E-H includes a highly sensitive multi-constellation GNSS receiver (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS). Paired with the included active GPS antenna, you can easily build real-time fleet trackers or geofencing applications. A MicroSD card slot is also hidden beneath the battery holder for offline data logging if cellular signal is ever lost.

1. What is the difference between the T-SIM7600G and the T-SIM7600E? The letter denotes the geographic region the modem is optimized for. The "G" is Global. This specific "E-H" variant is optimized for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Korea, and Thailand.
2. Will this work in North America? While it may pick up some overlapping 3G or 2G bands depending on your carrier, the LTE bands on the "E" variant are not optimized for North American carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile). For NA, you generally want the T-SIM7600A variant.
3. What size SIM card does it take? The board requires a standard Nano SIM card. Ensure the SIM card has an active data plan and that any PIN codes are disabled.
4. Why are there two USB Type-C ports? The port labeled "ESP32 programming download port" connects directly to the ESP32 for flashing your Arduino/C++ code. The port labeled "USB Interface" connects directly to the SIM7600 modem, allowing you to interface with it using AT commands from a PC, bypassing the ESP32 entirely.
5. How do the ESP32 and the SIM7600 communicate? They communicate internally via a hardware Serial/UART connection. The ESP32's TXD (IO27) and RXD (IO26) are wired to the modem.
6. Does it come with a battery? No. Shipping regulations restrict the inclusion of bare lithium batteries. You must provide your own high-quality, unprotected 18650 Li-Ion cell. Make absolutely sure you insert it matching the +/- markings on the holder.
7. Can I charge the battery via solar? Yes! The board features a dedicated "SOLAR INPUT 4.4-6V" JST connector and a CN3165 charging IC. You can plug a 5V or 6V solar panel directly into this port to charge the 18650 battery.
8. Will the USB port also charge the battery? Yes, plugging a USB-C cable into the ESP32 port will also charge the 18650 battery.
9. How do I turn the board on? There is a small physical slide switch near the solar connector. This switch must be turned to the "ON" position for the ESP32 and modem to receive battery power.
10. What do the buttons do? There is a Reset button for the ESP32. There are also internal pins (like IO4) that must be pulled high/low in your code to physically power on the SIM7600 modem.
11. How do I use the GPS? You must connect the included active GPS antenna to the correct u.FL connector on the board. You then send specific AT commands from the ESP32 to the modem to turn on the GNSS engine and request NMEA location sentences.
12. Why is my GPS not getting a fix? GPS requires a clear view of the sky. It will almost never get a 3D lock indoors. Take the active antenna outside and wait up to 5-10 minutes for a cold start lock.
13. Does this board have Wi-Fi? Yes. The ESP32-WROVER module provides standard 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth v4.2 BR/EDR and BLE.
14. Where is the MicroSD card slot? It is cleverly hidden on the back of the PCB, physically located underneath the 18650 battery holder.
15. What are the SPI pins for the MicroSD card? The TF card slot uses MOSI (IO15), MISO (IO2), SCLK (IO14), and CS (IO13).
16. What logic voltage do the GPIO pins use? Like all ESP32 microcontrollers, the GPIO pins operate strictly on 3.3V logic. Supplying 5V to a GPIO pin will destroy the chip.
17. Do I need to solder the header pins? Yes. The board comes with two rows of male header pins unattached. You will need to solder them yourself if you wish to use external sensors or a breadboard.
18. What are the exact dimensions of the board? The PCB is quite large to accommodate the battery and modem, measuring 110.54mm in length and 32.89mm in width.
19. What library should I use to control the modem? The TinyGSM library by vshymanskyy is highly recommended for interacting with the SIM7600 via the ESP32 in the Arduino IDE.
20. My modem keeps restarting or won't connect. Why? Cellular modems draw massive spikes of current (up to 2 Amps) during network registration and transmission. A weak USB port cannot provide this. You must have a fully charged 18650 battery installed in the board to provide the necessary current bursts for the modem to function stably.
