Drive heavy loads efficiently with the PB37-520 24V 35 RPM gear motor. Features an all-metal 37mm cylindrical gearbox, a precision 6mm offset D-shaft, and six M3 mounting holes for rock-solid installation in robotics and automation.
The 24V Advantage While 12V motors are common, moving to a 24V system provides distinct advantages for heavy-duty projects. At 24V, the motor draws exactly half the current (Amps) to produce the same amount of mechanical power. This means thinner wires, less stress on your motor controllers, and a motor that runs significantly cooler under heavy loads. The PB37-520 leverages this 24V system to produce a massive amount of torque at a very deliberate, steady 35 Revolutions Per Minute.
All-Metal Spur Gearbox Reliability To handle the intense rotational force, this motor utilizes an all-metal spur gear reduction system housed within a 37mm diameter cylindrical casing. There are no plastic gears to strip out. This makes the 35 RPM output incredibly robust, ideal for applications where the motor must fight against gravity or heavy mechanical resistance without failing.
Eccentric Offset 6mm D-Shaft A defining characteristic of the 37mm gear motor series is its eccentric (offset) output shaft. The shaft is offset precisely 7mm from the center of the motor face to accommodate the dense internal spur gear layout. The 6mm stainless steel shaft is 15.5mm long and features a deep 12mm "D-shape" flat cut. This ensures heavy-duty lift arms, conveyor pulleys, and spools can be locked down with a set screw with absolutely zero risk of slipping.
Versatile 6-Hole Mounting Interface Secure mounting is non-negotiable when dealing with high torque. The front faceplate of the gearbox features six pre-tapped M3 mounting holes arranged on a 31mm bolt circle. This allows you to bolt the motor flush against flat chassis plates, custom 3D-printed mounts, or standard 37mm L-brackets for extreme rigidity.

DIY Robotic Arms: Providing the massive, slow-moving torque required for the shoulder and elbow joints of custom 3D-printed robotic arms.
Miniature Conveyor Belts: Driving the main pulley of a custom sorting or assembly line, where 35 RPM provides a perfect, manageable speed for parts moving down a track.
Heavy Smart Curtains: Powering a spool mechanism to draw thick, heavy blackout curtains open and closed reliably.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
The Smart Automated Sorting Conveyor: Evolve your tabletop factory project! Use this 24V 35 RPM motor to drive the belt of a custom conveyor system. Because the 24V motor runs cool and steady, it can run continuously. Add an Arduino, a 24V motor controller, and an Infrared (IR) break-beam sensor. The Arduino can detect when a package passes through the beam, command the motor to instantly brake, trigger a pneumatic arm to push the package into a bin, and then resume the 35 RPM conveyor feed!
1 x PB37-520 DC24V 35 RPM Miniature Speed Reduction Gear Motor
What is the operating voltage for this motor? This specific model is optimized to run on a 24V DC power supply.
What is the output speed? It spins at approximately 35 RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) at 24V with no load.
What size is the output shaft? The shaft has a standard 6mm outer diameter.
Why is the shaft placed off-center? This uses an eccentric gearbox design. The internal spur gears require the final output shaft to be placed 7mm off-center to fit the reduction ratio inside the 37mm casing.
What does "D-Shape" mean? The 6mm shaft has a 12mm long flat section machined into it. This creates a "D" profile, preventing pulleys or hubs from slipping when a set screw is tightened against it.
Is this a worm gear motor? No. This motor uses cylindrical spur gears. While it has high resistance due to the reduction ratio, it is not purely self-locking like a worm gear.
Can I reverse the direction of rotation? Yes. By simply swapping the positive and negative power connections, the motor will spin in the reverse direction.
What size mounting screws do I need? The gearbox face accepts standard metric M3 machine screws.
How many mounting holes are there? There are exactly six M3 threaded mounting holes arranged in a circle on the face of the gearbox.
How long is the actual shaft? The protruding shaft is 15.5mm long in total.
Can I run this 24V motor on 12V? Yes, a 24V DC motor will safely spin on 12V, but it will run at exactly half the speed (around 17.5 RPM) and will have less torque than running it at its rated voltage.
Is this motor waterproof? No, the metal housing, seams, and rear solder terminals are exposed to the elements. It must be protected in a weatherproof enclosure if used outdoors.
Can I control the speed of this motor? Yes, using a 24V-compatible PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) DC motor speed controller, you can slow it down smoothly.
How do I connect wires to this motor? There are two brass solder tabs on the rear of the black motor body. You will need a soldering iron to attach your power wires securely.
Does the motor come with wires already attached? No, it ships with bare solder terminals ready for your custom wiring.
What is the diameter of the cylindrical motor body? The black and silver motor section behind the gearbox has a diameter of 33mm.
What is the diameter of the front gearbox? The front silver gearbox measures exactly 37mm in diameter.
How long is the rear motor body section? The motor body section measures 22.7mm in length.
Will this work for a DIY smart blinds or curtains project? Yes, 35 RPM is an excellent, steady speed for drawing heavy curtains, and the 24V system provides more than enough torque.
What type of coupling do I need to attach an arm or wheel? You should use a 6mm rigid flange coupling, a 6mm hex hub, or a flexible shaft coupler that features a set screw to clamp down securely on the flat D-shaft profile.
