Add speed and agility to your robotics with the JGB37-520 12V 320 RPM gear motor. Features a fast all-metal 37mm cylindrical gearbox, a precision 6mm offset D-shaft, and six M3 mounting holes for secure, high-vibration installation.
Built for Speed and Agility When building a maze-solving robot or an RC car, a 30 RPM motor simply won't cut it. The JGB37-520 320 RPM model is geared for velocity. At 12V, this motor rotates the output shaft over 5 times per second. When paired with standard 65mm robot wheels, this translates to a brisk, highly agile travel speed that is perfect for autonomous rovers navigating dynamic environments. While it sacrifices some of the extreme lifting torque of the 7 RPM variants, it still provides significantly more pushing power than a standard, ungeared hobby motor.
All-Metal Spur Gearbox Reliability High-speed rotation combined with sudden stops and reversals can easily strip plastic gears. To handle these dynamic loads, this motor utilizes an all-metal spur gear reduction system housed within its 37mm diameter cylindrical casing. This rigid internal construction ensures the motor can survive the rough-and-tumble life of a mobile robot.
Eccentric Offset 6mm D-Shaft A hallmark of the 37mm gear motor series is its eccentric (offset) output shaft. To accommodate the spur gear layout, the shaft is offset exactly 7mm from the center axis of the motor. The 6mm stainless steel shaft is 15mm long and features a deep 11.5mm "D-shape" flat cut. This creates a reliable, slip-free mounting surface for set screws on your wheel hubs and drive pulleys.
Versatile 6-Hole Mounting Interface Because this motor is designed to drive mobile robots that bump into walls and traverse rough terrain, secure mounting is essential. The front faceplate features six pre-tapped M3 mounting holes arranged in a 31mm circular pattern. This allows you to bolt the motor flush against metal chassis plates or standard 37mm aluminum L-brackets for rock-solid stability.
Note: Please note that this motor will have a +/- 20% error in the RPM.

Fast Autonomous Rovers: Serving as the primary drive motors for line-following robots, maze solvers, and RC cars requiring brisk movement.
Light-Duty High-Speed Winches: Rapidly retracting cables for animatronics or theater props where speed is prioritized over lifting immense weight.
Automated Ball Launchers: Using two of these motors spinning in opposite directions to grip and fire ping-pong balls or foam darts for custom turrets.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
The High-Speed RC Combat Bot: Standard geared motors make for slow, predictable robots. Evolve your build into a nimble RC combat bot by using two of these 320 RPM JGB37-520 motors for differential steering. Pair them with a 3S LiPo battery, grippy silicone wheels, and a heavy-duty dual motor driver. The 320 RPM speed will allow your bot to outmaneuver the competition, while the metal gears will survive aggressive impacts in the arena!
1 x JGB37-520 DC12V 320 RPM Miniature Speed Reduction Gear Motor
What is the operating voltage for this motor? This motor is optimized to run on a 12V DC power supply or a 3S LiPo battery (11.1V).
What is the output speed? It spins at a rapid 320 RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) at 12V under no load.
Is this motor good for lifting heavy weights? No. Because it is geared for high speed (320 RPM), it sacrifices torque. If you need to lift heavy weights, choose a lower RPM version like the 35 RPM or 7 RPM models.
What size is the output shaft? The shaft has a standard 6mm outer diameter.
Why is the shaft placed off-center? This motor uses an eccentric gearbox design. The internal spur gears require the final output shaft to be placed 7mm off the center axis.
What does "D-Shape" mean? The 6mm shaft has an 11.5mm long flat section machined into it. This flat "D" profile prevents wheels from slipping when a set screw is tightened against it.
Is this a self-locking worm gear motor? No. This motor uses cylindrical spur gears. It is not self-locking and can be carefully back-driven, meaning a heavy load will cause it to unspool when power is cut.
Can I reverse the direction of rotation? Yes. By swapping the positive and negative power connections, the motor will instantly spin in the reverse direction.
What size mounting screws do I need? The gearbox face accepts standard metric M3 machine screws.
How many mounting holes are there? There are exactly six M3 threaded mounting holes arranged in a circle on the face of the gearbox.
How long is the actual shaft? The protruding shaft is 15mm long in total.
Can I run this 12V motor on 5V? Yes, a 12V DC motor will safely spin on 5V, but it will run much slower and have significantly less torque.
Is this motor waterproof? No, the metal housing, seams, and rear solder terminals are exposed. It will short out if exposed to water.
Can I control the speed of this motor? Yes, using a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) DC motor speed controller, you can throttle the speed down from 320 RPM to a stop.
How do I connect wires to this motor? There are two brass solder tabs on the rear of the motor body. You must use a soldering iron to attach your power wires.
Does the motor come with wires already attached? No, it ships with bare solder terminals.
What is the diameter of the cylindrical motor body? The motor section behind the gearbox has a diameter of 33mm.
What is the diameter of the front gearbox? The front silver gearbox measures exactly 37mm in diameter.
How long is the rear motor body section? The back motor body section measures 22mm in length.
What type of coupling do I need to attach a robot wheel? You should use a 6mm rigid hex hub designed specifically for D-shafts to ensure your wheel stays securely fastened during high-speed maneuvers.
