High-speed 12V DC linear actuator with 100mm stroke. Operates at 50mm/s (10x faster than standard) with a 2kg (19N) push/pull capacity. Ideal for rapid actuation of latches, levers, and lightweight mechanisms.
Most linear actuators are built like tractors—slow and powerful. The PA-T8-12-100-19 is built like a race car. Operating at a blistering 50mm/s (approx. 2 inches per second), this actuator is 5 to 10 times faster than standard models. It is specifically engineered for applications requiring rapid deployment and retraction, such as locking mechanisms, quick-release levers, or animatronic movements.
⚠️ CRITICAL SELECTION NOTE: Speed comes at the cost of torque. This unit has a maximum load capacity of 19.2N (approx. 2 kg). It is NOT suitable for lifting heavy windows, solar panels, or furniture. If you need to lift a weight, choose our 5mm/s (800N) version.
Probots™ ProSpec Grade: High-speed gearing generates heat and stress. We select units with precision-moulded internal gears designed to withstand the rapid RPM of the DC motor without shredding, ensuring reliable operation for rapid-fire mechanisms.
Probots™ Logic-Safe: Fast motors generate significant electrical noise. We test these units to ensure the internal limit switches trigger cleanly without "bouncing," preventing the motor from jamming against the end-stops.
Operating Voltage: 12V DC
Stroke Length: 100mm (4 inches)
Travel Speed: 50mm/s (at No Load)
Max Load (Push/Pull): 19.2N (~1.9 kg / 4.2 lbs)
Motor Type: High-RPM Brushed DC
Limit Switches: Built-in (Auto-stop at ends, non-adjustable)
Material: Aluminium Alloy Tube / ABS Housing
Protection Rating: IP54 (Splash Resistant)
Duty Cycle: 10% (e.g., 2 minutes ON, 18 minutes OFF) - High speed generates heat fast.
Retracted Length: ~205mm
Extended Length: ~305mm
Smart Door Locks: Rapidly slide a deadbolt or latch mechanism (low friction, high speed).
Animatronics & Props: create life-like, fast movements for cosplay wings, hidden compartments, or scare-pranks where slow motion ruins the effect.
Sorting Diverters: Quickly push lightweight boxes or items off a conveyor belt.
RC Model Landing Gear: Deploy mechanisms on large scale RC planes or boats.
Prerequisite: You've likely used Solenoids for fast motion, but found they only have a short stroke (10-20mm).
The Upgrade: This actuator gives you the Speed of a Solenoid with the Long Reach (100mm) of an actuator. It bridges the gap between magnetic "clicks" and motorized "pushes."
Effort Level: Intermediate. Requires careful mechanical alignment to ensure no side-load or friction exceeds the 2kg limit.
Friction Kills: Since the force limit is only ~2kg, any friction in your hinge or rail will stall the motor. Ensure your mechanism moves freely by hand before attaching this actuator.
Power Supply: Use a 12V 2A Adapter. While running current is low, start-up spikes can be high due to the high-speed winding.
Control Logic: Use a standard H-Bridge (L298N or Relay Module) to reverse polarity.

Can this open a bedroom window?
No. A window weighs far more than 2kg (force). This motor will stall and burn out. Use the 800N version for windows.
Why is it so weak (19N)?
To get 50mm/s speed from a small motor, we use a low gear ratio. This trades Torque for Speed.
Can I slow it down?
Yes, using a PWM speed controller, but this will reduce the force even further (below 2kg).
Does it hold position when power is off?
Yes, but due to the steep thread pitch (for speed), it is easier to "back-drive" (force down) than slower actuators. It is not a strong mechanical lock.
What happens if I block the movement?
It will stall immediately. Since it moves fast, impact damage can occur. We recommend using a Current Sensor to detect stalls and cut power.
Is it waterproof?
IP54: Good for rain/splashes, but not submersion.
How loud is it?
Louder than slow actuators. The high-speed motor makes a distinct high-pitched whirring sound.
Can I adjust the stroke to 50mm?
Not internally. You must install external limit switches to stop the power earlier.
Will it work on 6V?
It will move slower (approx 25mm/s) and have very little force. Not recommended.
Is this compatible with Arduino?
Yes, via a Relay Module or L298N driver. Do not power directly from GPIO.
Can I use this for a pinball plunger?
It is fast, but probably not "instant" enough for pinball physics. Solenoids are better for impact.
What is the duty cycle?
10%. Do not run it continuously. It needs time to cool down.
Probots™ LifeCycle Ready ⏳: Respecting the duty cycle is the #1 way to make this last for years.
Does it have a potentiometer?
No, this is a 2-wire motor. No position feedback.
Probots™ Tech-Bridge ????????: If you need feedback, look for our actuators with "POT" in the title.
What are the mounting hole dimensions?
6mm diameter holes on both the motor end and rod end.
Can I use a 9V battery?
No. 9V batteries cannot supply the surge current needed for 50mm/s acceleration.
Why is my actuator jittering?
Loose connections or an under-powered supply (voltage dip) usually cause jitter at high speeds.
Can I use this for a cosplay Iron Man helmet?
Yes! This is the perfect use case. It's fast enough to look cool and strong enough to lift a plastic faceplate.
Does it spark?
Brushed motors create small internal sparks. Do not use near flammable gases.
How accurate is the stopping point?
The internal limit switches are fairly accurate, but momentum might cause it to coast 1-2mm after power cut.
Is the rod stainless steel?
It is typically aluminum alloy to save weight for higher speed.
