Unlike panel-mount versions, this "Docking" set includes both a Male Plug and a Female Inline Socket, both with waterproof cable glands. It is the perfect solution for creating detachable extension cords for machines, outdoor lighting, or marine electronics.
Built for High Current Rated for 25 Amps, this 5-pin connector can handle significant power loads along with control signals. Whether you are wiring a 3-phase motor with Hall sensors or a complex lighting rig, the gold-plated contacts ensure reliable power transmission without overheating.
IP68 Weatherproof Design Once mated and screwed tight, the connection is sealed against dust, rain, and pressure washers (IP68). The dual cable glands on either end grip the wire jacket tightly, preventing water from wicking inside the cable even if it is submerged.

Soldering: Use a steady hand. The 5 pins are arranged in a tight circle. Insulate each solder joint with a small piece of heat shrink tubing to prevent shorts.

What is the difference between "Docking" and "Panel Mount"?
Docking: Connects Cable-to-Cable (inline). Both sides have cable glands and housings.
Panel Mount: Connects Cable-to-Box. One side has a nut to fix it to a wall or panel.
Does this set include both Male and Female sides? Yes, it is a complete kit containing one Male Plug (with pins) and one Female Socket (with holes), both designed for cable attachment.
Is it truly rated for 25 Amps? Yes, this model features thick gold-plated pins designed to handle 25A continuous current, unlike the standard 5A versions.
Can I use this underwater? Yes, it is rated IP68. It can withstand submersion up to 1-2 meters, provided the cable glands are tightened correctly around a round cable.
What is the maximum cable diameter? The gland is designed to seal effectively on round cables between 8mm and 12mm in diameter.
Can I use it on thinner cables? If your cable is thinner than 8mm, you must wrap electrical tape or heat shrink around the jacket to build up the thickness, otherwise, water will leak in.
How do I solder the wires? The pins have solder cups. Tin your wire ends first, insert them into the cup, and apply heat. Use heat shrink tubing over each joint to prevent shorts.
Is it compatible with SD20 Panel Mount sockets? Yes! The Male Plug in this set is standard. It can plug into this docking socket OR any standard SD20 panel socket.
What happens if I unscrew it while powered? Do not do this. Breaking a 25A connection under load can cause arcing and damage the pins. Always power down before disconnecting.
Is the plastic UV resistant? Yes, the housing is made of PA66 Nylon, which is durable and UV stable for outdoor use.
Can I use it for data signals? Yes. Since it has 5 isolated pins, you can use 2 pins for power and 3 for data (e.g., RS485 or Sensor lines) in the same cable.
Is it shielded? No, the housing is plastic. If you need EMI shielding, you should look for the metal "GX" series or "Weipu" metal connectors.
How do I identify Pin 1? The pin numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are molded into the plastic insulator face next to each pin/hole.
What is the voltage rating? It is rated for up to 380V AC, making it safe for 110V, 220V, and 24V DC systems.
Is it keyed? Yes, there is a prominent keyway (notch) inside that ensures you can only plug it in the correct orientation.
Can I use 10AWG wire? 10AWG might be too thick for the solder cups. 12AWG is the recommended maximum. If you must use 10AWG, you may need to file the wire tip down.
Does it come with a cap? Standard docking sets usually do not include a dust cap, as the connector is meant to stay mated. Caps are typically for panel sockets.
