It is suitable for Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, UAVs, Permiter Detection, and all general-purpose obstacle avoidance applications.
Lidar stands for “Light Detection and Ranging.” It is an active remote sensing technology, that measures the time it takes for each laser pulse to bounce back from an obstacle to calculate the distance.
TFS20-L is a Miniaturized single-point LiDAR Module based on the pulsed ToF (time of flight) principle and it is designed for the range of single-point up to 20m with a compact size, lightweight design, accurate and long-range measurement capabilities, and excellent distance measurement performance even under strong ambient light, it is an excellent choice for miniature dToF applications. It Optimizes various compensation algorithms, with unique optics, electricity, and algorithms to achieve stability, precision, sensitivity, and high-speed distance measurement. It can work under a strong light environment and rain, fog, and snow conditions. Widely used in terrain-following of drones, the collision avoidance of cars, intelligent transportation, and industrial safety warnings.
The TFS20-L is a fully integrated single-channel dToF ranging mini-module that incorporates a highly sensitive infrared-enhanced SPAD sensor. Utilizing a fully integrated SPAD chip solution, histogram statistical algorithm, and a fast TDC architecture, it achieves high-precision distance measurement while offering sunlight resistance of 15m@100Klux, along with a reflectivity correction feature. The sensor can detect points up to 20m with an accuracy of 1% and has a narrow FoV of 2°.
It operates on 3.3V and can connect to a microcontroller, PLC, and computer through a UART interface. Please go through the development manual under the Technical Details Tab for the detailed commands and responses by the sensor.
Benewake also provides GUI software for testing and using the sensor. The software can display live sensor readings, log readings, and debug messages. Use this software as a plug-and-play option to test and evaluate the sensor for your application.
