ACEBOTT Smart Car Starter Educational DIY Kit ESP32 Wifi-App Control QD001 βΉ7,999.00 Secure your NEMA 17 stepper motors with this Injection Molded L-Bracket. Unlike heavy steel brackets, this unit is crafted from durable, high-strength plastic. Its design features thick triangular reinforcement ribs that provide excellent rigidity while significantly reducing weight. This makes it the perfect choice for motion systems where mass is a concern, such as 3D printer carriages or mobile robots.
Vibration Dampening: Metal brackets can amplify motor noise. This moulded plastic bracket naturally absorbs vibrations, leading to quieter operation—a key benefit for desktop 3D printers and home automation projects.
Universal Fit: Designed with the standard 31mm x 31mm hole spacing, it fits all standard NEMA 17 (42mm) stepper motors. The base features slotted mounting holes, allowing you to fine-tune the bracket's position on your frame for perfect belt tension or gear alignment.
Motor Compatibility: NEMA 17 (42mm Stepper Motors)
Material: High-Strength Injection Moulded Plastic (ABS/Nylon composite)
Colour: Black
Mounting Angle: 90 Degrees (Right Angle)
Motor Mounting Holes: 4 x Unthreaded (Fits M3 Screws)
Frame Mounting: Slotted Base Holes (Adjustable)
Structure: L-Type with side gussets for strength
Weight: ~20g (Approx)
3D Printer Extruders: Commonly used with lightweight geared extruders (like Titan or BMG setups) where saving weight on the X-carriage is critical for speed.
Educational Robotics: Safe, lightweight, and non-conductive mounting for student projects.
Camera Sliders: Silent motor mounting for video equipment.
Screw Selection: Since this is plastic, use M3 screws with washers. Do not over-tighten, as excessive force could crack the plastic mounting ears. Snug is enough!
Heat Warning: Stepper motors can get hot. This bracket is suitable for motors running at normal operating temperatures (<60°C). For high-temperature industrial applications, use our Metal NEMA 17 Bracket instead.
Included: 1 x Aluminium Motor Bracket
Required (Sold Separately):
NEMA 17 Stepper Motor
M3 Screws (length depends on your specific setup, usually M3x10mm for the motor)
M4/M5 Screws (for mounting the base to your frame)
Is this bracket metal or plastic?
This specific model is Injection Molded Plastic. It is lightweight and absorbs vibration.
Will it fit any NEMA 17 motor?
Yes, it fits standard NEMA 17 motors with a 42mm face and 31mm hole spacing.
Is it strong enough for a CNC machine?
For a light pen plotter or laser engraver, yes. For a heavy CNC router cutting wood/aluminum, we recommend our Steel L-Bracket for maximum rigidity.
Does it come with screws?
No, screws are not included. You will need M3 screws for the motor.
Why use plastic instead of metal?
Plastic is lighter (good for moving parts like 3D printer heads) and quieter (dampens vibration).
Can I use this for a NEMA 23 motor?
No, NEMA 23 motors are larger (57mm). This is strictly for NEMA 17 (42mm).
What is the distance between the mounting holes?
The motor holes are spaced 31mm apart (standard NEMA 17 layout).
Can I drill extra holes in it?
Yes, since it is plastic, it is easy to drill or modify for custom projects.
Will it melt if the motor gets hot?
It is designed to withstand standard stepper temperatures (up to ~60-70°C). If your motor is too hot to touch (>80°C), you should check your motor driver current, not just the bracket!
Does it fit the Titan Extruder?
Yes, this "L-style" shape is very similar to the standard mounting bracket included with many Titan/BMG extruder kits.
Is it conductive?
No, it is electrically non-conductive, which helps isolate the motor frame from the rest of the machine.
What is the thickness of the plastic?
The main walls are typically 3-4mm thick, reinforced with ribs.
Can I mount it to a wall?
Yes, the base has holes that can be screwed into wood, drywall anchors, or metal frames.
Is it 90 degrees?
Yes, it holds the motor at a right angle to the mounting surface.
What size screws fit the base slots?
Typically M4 or M5 screws fit the base slots comfortably.
Does it warp over time?
High-quality ABS/Nylon blends are stable. However, avoid using it in enclosed chambers above 60°C for prolonged periods.
Is this stronger than a 3D printed bracket?
Generally, yes. Injection molded parts are isotropic (solid) and do not have the layer adhesion weaknesses of FDM 3D printed parts.
Can I paint it?
Yes, plastics can be painted with acrylic or spray paint.
Does it hold the motor securely?
Yes, when used with 4 screws, it provides a very secure mount.
Is the "L" shape rigid?
The side gussets (triangular ribs) prevent the "L" from flexing open, keeping it quite rigid for its weight.
