3900KV SURPASS HOBBY 2040 Brushless Motor 35A ESC Waterproof IP65 βΉ7,299.00 Sub-Micro Dimensions, Massive RPM Designing micro-RC aircraft usually means sacrificing speed for weight, but the XDF2707 completely rewrites those rules. The inner diameter of this duct is a mere 27mm, making it small enough to hide inside the fuselage of a 1/48 scale model airplane. Despite this tiny footprint, the incredibly high 11500KV rating of the motor means that on a 12.6V battery, the impeller is being commanded to spin at over 130,000 RPM unloaded. Under the physical load of moving air, it settles at a blistering 86,000 RPM, forcing out enough air to produce 119g of static thrust.
The M1204 Brushless Powerhouse Housed precisely in the center of the duct is the M1204 brushless outrunner motor. The "1204" designation means it has a 12mm wide and 4mm tall internal stator. By utilizing high-temperature copper windings and powerful neodymium magnets, this tiny motor can safely draw up to 9.2 Amps of continuous current without burning out. Because the motor is mounted directly in the path of the incoming airflow, it receives immense active cooling, preventing thermal runaway during full-throttle passes.
CCW 7-Blade Impeller & Efficiency This specific unit features a Counter-Clockwise (CCW) rotating 7-blade impeller. The blade pitch is heavily optimized for the 27mm duct, squeezing out an impressive efficiency rating of 1.0 to 1.2 Watts per gram of thrust. The duct itself features a beautifully flared 36mm intake lip, which serves a critical aerodynamic purpose: it smoothly guides chaotic outside air into the duct, preventing turbulence and maximizing the volume of air the blades can bite into.

Key Applications and Projects
Sub-250g Micro Jets: Powering scratch-built, ultra-lightweight foam-board fighters that can fly in small local parks or indoor gymnasiums.
Desktop Hovercrafts: Providing the forward thrust for tiny, 3D-printed RC hovercrafts sliding across smooth hardwood floors.
Micro Glider Conversions: Taking a cheap, free-flight foam chuck-glider and retrofitting it with this EDF and micro servos to create a screaming RC missile.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution) The Micro Twin-Engine A-10 Warthog: Single engines are great, but twin engines are better! A major issue with tiny airplanes is "torque roll"—the twisting force of a high-speed motor that makes the plane want to constantly roll to one side. Evolve your build! Because this specific EDF is CCW (Counter-Clockwise), you can pair it with an identical CW (Clockwise) version on the opposite wing of a micro A-10 Warthog build. By running counter-rotating impellers, the torque forces perfectly cancel each other out. You get double the thrust (nearly 240g!), an incredible twin-turbine sound, and a perfectly stable, laser-straight flight path!
Package Includes:
1 x Aeorc XDF2707 27mm 7-Blade EDF Unit (CCW)
1 x Pre-installed M1204 11500KV Brushless Motor

Q: What is the outer diameter for mounting? The main cylindrical body has an outer diameter of 29.7mm. You should cut a hole slightly smaller than this in your foam to ensure a tight friction fit. The flared intake lip at the front is 36mm wide.
Q: What size battery do I need? This EDF is designed strictly for 3S LiPo batteries (11.1V nominal, 12.6V fully charged). A micro 300mAh to 450mAh 3S pack with a high C-rating is recommended to keep weight down.
Q: What does CCW mean? CCW stands for Counter-Clockwise. It refers to the physical direction the impeller blades are pitched to spin in order to generate forward thrust.
Q: What size Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) is required? Factory tests show it draws a maximum of 9.2 Amps at 12.6V. A 15A Brushless ESC (like the E-Power Plus 15A) is the minimum required to provide a safe thermal buffer.
Q: How much thrust does this tiny unit actually make? At a full 12.6V, it produces approximately 119 grams of static thrust while spinning at 86,000 RPM.
Q: Can I run this on a 2S (7.4V) battery? Yes, the motor will spin, but because it is an 11500KV motor, dropping the voltage that significantly will drastically reduce the RPM and cut your thrust output by more than half. It is optimized for 3S.
Q: Can I run this on a 4S (14.8V) battery? Absolutely not. 14.8V on an 11500KV motor will attempt to push the impeller well past 120,000 RPM under load. This will instantly pull too many amps, burning out the motor coils and likely shattering the plastic blades.
Q: How heavy is the complete unit? The entire assembly (duct, impeller, and motor) weighs incredibly light at just 11 grams.
Q: What does M1204 mean? It refers to the dimensions of the internal brushless motor stator. The stator is 12mm in diameter and 4mm in height.
Q: Is the housing made of metal? No, to save weight, the blue translucent housing and the 7-blade impeller are injection-molded from a high-strength composite plastic.
Q: Do I need to balance the impeller blades myself? No, the XDF2707 comes fully assembled and dynamically balanced from the factory. Taking the impeller off or attempting to sand the blades will ruin the balance and cause severe vibrations at 86,000 RPM.
Q: Why does the motor have three wires instead of a red and black wire? This is a 3-phase AC brushless motor. It cannot be connected directly to a DC battery. The three wires must be soldered to the three output pads of a Brushless ESC.
Q: How do I reverse the motor if it is blowing air out the front? If the fan is spinning the wrong way, simply disconnect any TWO of the three motor wires from your ESC and swap their positions. This reverses the electronic phasing and will correct the airflow direction.
Q: What is the total length of the EDF? From the front of the intake lip to the rear of the exhaust tube, the total length is 30mm.
Q: Can I remove the flared lip at the front to make it fit in a tube? It is highly discouraged. The flared intake lip is an aerodynamic necessity. It smooths the incoming air; removing it will cause turbulence, "blade stall," and a massive drop in thrust.
Q: What is the inner diameter of the duct? The inner diameter of the duct where the impeller spins is 27mm.
Q: How fast does the motor spin? At maximum 3S voltage (12.6V), the motor spins at approximately 86,000 Revolutions Per Minute (RPM).
Q: Can I use this for a twin-engine jet build? Yes! It is highly recommended to buy one CCW version and one CW (Clockwise) version for a twin-engine build. Having counter-rotating fans cancels out the torque-roll effect, making the plane much easier to fly.
Q: Can I take the motor out and put a standard propeller on it? It is not recommended. An 11500KV motor spins far too fast for a standard open-air propeller. Attempting to spin a normal prop at those speeds will draw massive current and burn the motor instantly. It is geared specifically for the tiny diameter of a ducted fan.
Q: Are there mounting tabs on the outside of the housing? No, this unit relies on a smooth outer cylindrical body (29.7mm OD). It is designed to be friction-fit or glued directly into a perfectly sized cylindrical channel carved into your aircraft's foam fuselage.
