Is the Relife RL-421-OR compatible with lead-free solder?
Yes, this high-activity flux paste is specifically designed to work seamlessly with both modern lead-free solder alloys and traditional leaded solder.
Can I use this flux for through-hole components as well as SMD?
While optimized for delicate SMD and BGA work, it works exceptionally well for through-hole soldering, especially when dealing with oxidized component leads.
Does this paste work with standard rosin-core solder wire?
Yes, it acts as an excellent supplemental flux when the rosin core inside your wire isn't quite enough for heavily oxidized or stubborn pads.
Is it safe for all types of PCB finishes?
The RL-421-OR is safe to use on all standard PCB surface finishes, including HASL, ENIG, and OSP.
How much flux paste should I apply for an SMD chip?
You only need a very thin, translucent layer across the pads; applying too much will cause the chip to float and misalign when heated.
Do I need a special tool to dispense this paste?
You will need a standard syringe plunger or a pneumatic dispensing gun to smoothly push the high-viscosity liquid out of the 10CC tube.
What temperature is required to activate this flux?
The imported rosin in this paste activates effectively at standard soldering temperatures, typically starting around 150°C and fully flowing at 220°C–250°C.
Is this a "no-clean" flux paste?
While it leaves a pale yellow residue with high insulation resistance that won't immediately harm the board, we strongly recommend cleaning it off for professional repairs.
How do I clean the flux residue off my PCB?
You can easily scrub the residue away using an anti-static brush and pure Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) or a dedicated flux remover spray.
