Industrial durability for critical measurements. In high-vibration environments like CNC mills, 3D printer extruders, or industrial motors, a standard fragile sensor will fail. The PT100 M6 Screw Sensor is built to last. It combines the precision of a Platinum RTD with an armoured physical design. The Stainless Steel Braided Cable protects the wires from cuts, abrasion, and hot surfaces, while the integrated Spring Strain Relief at the bolt exit prevents the cable from snapping due to repetitive bending—a common failure point in moving machinery.
Why the 3-Wire configuration matters. This sensor features a 3-Wire setup (Red/Red/White), which is superior to cheaper 2-wire versions. Over the long 2-meter cable run, wire resistance can skew your temperature readings by several degrees. The 3-wire design allows your controller (or MAX31865 amplifier) to measure and subtract this cable resistance, ensuring that the temperature you see is exactly what is happening at the M6 tip, not the wire.

How to identify the connections:
Regardless of colour, the internal schematic of the 3-wire RTD remains the same.
Identify the Common Legs: Use a multimeter to measure continuity. The two wires with near-zero resistance (shorted) are the common legs (usually connected to the same side of the sensing element).
Identify the Sensing Leg: The third wire, when measured against either of the common legs, will read the nominal resistance (e.g., approx. 100Ω for PT100 at room temperature).

Virtual Technician & Wiring Guide
3-Wire Wiring: Connect the two wires of the same colour (usually Red) to the "Bias" and "Ref" terminals (or common ground) on your amplifier. Connect the single, distinct wire (Blue/White) to the Signal input.
Tightening: The M6 bolt is hollow to house the sensor. Do not over-torque. Hand-tight plus a quarter turn with a wrench is sufficient to secure it without shearing the head.
Cable Routing: Although braided, avoid tight kinks. Let the spring strain relief do its work by allowing a gentle curve at the sensor exit.
