The FS-i6X uses Flysky's proprietary AFHDS 2A (Automatic Frequency Hopping Digital System Second Generation) protocol. This system continuously hops across 160 different frequency channels in the 2.4GHz band. If it detects interference on one channel, it instantly hops to a clear one. This ensures that even if you are flying at a park with a dozen other pilots, your signal remains locked in and perfectly responsive.
10 Channels of Total Control While it looks like a standard 6-channel radio, the FS-i6X is fully upgraded to support 10 channels. You have the standard 4 channels on the high-precision gimbals (Throttle, Yaw, Pitch, Roll), plus an array of customizable 2-position switches, 3-position switches, and variable dials. This gives you the extra channels needed to control complex mechanisms like retractable landing gear, flight mode switching, camera gimbals, or robotic arms.
The FS-iA10B Receiver: Telemetry & i-BUS This package doesn't skimp on the receiver. It includes the premium FS-iA10B 10-Channel Receiver. This receiver features dual antennas for excellent range and signal diversity. Beyond standard PWM outputs for servos, it fully supports i-BUS and PPM output. By using a single i-BUS wire connected to your drone's flight controller, you can transmit all 10 channels of data instantaneously, eliminating the "spaghetti wiring" of older RC builds. It also features dedicated sensor ports for returning real-time telemetry (like battery voltage) back to your transmitter's backlit LCD screen!
PC Simulator Ready Crashing a real drone is expensive; crashing in a video game is free. Looking at the back of the radio, you'll find a circular PS/2 style "Trainer" port. This kit includes a dedicated USB Simulator Cable that plugs directly into this port. Plug the other end into your PC, and your computer will recognize the radio as a joystick, allowing you to practice flying in popular RC simulators like Liftoff, Velocidrone, or RealFlight before you ever risk your real model.

1 x Flysky FS-i6X 10-Channel Transmitter
1 x Flysky FS-iA10B 10-Channel Receiver
1 x USB Simulator & Firmware Update Cable
1 x Bind Plug (Loopback wire)
Does this radio come with a battery? No, the FS-i6X requires 4x standard AA batteries, which are installed in the rear compartment.
Is this a Mode 1 or Mode 2 radio? Standard stock is usually Mode 2, which means the Throttle (non-spring-centering stick) is on the LEFT gimbal, and the Elevator/Aileron is on the RIGHT gimbal.
What is the bind plug for? The small black loopback wire is used to pair (bind) the receiver to the transmitter for the first time. You plug it into the "B/VCC" port on the receiver before powering it on.
How do I bind the receiver to the transmitter? Insert the bind plug into the receiver's B/VCC port. Power the receiver (the LED will flash fast). Hold down the "BIND KEY" button on the transmitter while turning the transmitter on. The receiver LED will stop flashing, indicating a successful bind.
What is the range of this radio system? In optimal, line-of-sight conditions without heavy RF interference, the AFHDS 2A system with the iA10B receiver can easily achieve 1 to 1.5 kilometers (approx. 1 mile) of range.
Can I fly multiple models with this one radio? Yes! The FS-i6X can store up to 20 different model profiles in its memory. You can buy extra receivers for all your planes and control them all from this single radio.
What is the difference between PWM, PPM, and i-BUS? PWM requires one physical wire for every single channel (up to 10 wires). PPM sends all channels down one wire, but is analog and slightly slower. i-BUS is a digital protocol that sends all 10 channels down a single wire with incredibly low latency.
Where do I plug in the battery on the receiver? You can plug a 4.0V-6.5V power source (usually an ESC's BEC) into any open channel port, or the dedicated B/VCC port. The positive/negative pins are shared across the whole rail.
What does the USB cable do? The USB cable plugs into the trainer port on the back and allows you to connect the radio to a PC to play RC flight simulators, or to update the radio's firmware.
Does the USB cable charge the transmitter? No. The transmitter runs on standard AA batteries. Plugging in the USB cable does not charge the batteries.
Why are there two antennas on the receiver? This is called antenna diversity. By placing the two antennas at a 90-degree angle to each other inside your model, the receiver can switch to whichever antenna has the strongest signal, preventing dead-zones.
Are the switches assignable? Yes, using the menus on the LCD screen, you can map the Aux channels (Channels 5 through 10) to any of the switches or dials on the radio.
Can I use this with old Flysky receivers? Yes, you can turn off the "AFHDS 2A" mode in the settings and revert to standard "AFHDS" to fly older receivers like the FS-R6B.
What do the dials on the top do? The two dials (VrA and VrB) are variable potentiometers. They are often assigned to control camera gimbals (to slowly pan up and down) or adjust flap settings smoothly.
Is there telemetry built-in? Yes, the included FS-iA10B receiver supports telemetry. Out of the box, it will report the receiver's signal strength (Err%) and the voltage powering the receiver back to the radio's screen.
Can I measure my main flight battery voltage? Yes, but you need to purchase a separate Flysky voltage telemetry sensor (like the FS-CVT01) and plug it into the "SENS" port on the receiver.
What is the "Trainer" port used for besides simulators? You can use a special trainer cable to link two FS-i6X radios together. An instructor holds the master radio, and a student holds the slave radio. The instructor can instantly take back control if the student makes a mistake.
Are the gimbals hall-effect? No, the FS-i6X uses standard, high-quality potentiometer gimbals to keep the price affordable.
Can I attach a neck strap? Yes, there is a metal loop located exactly in the center of the radio, just above the power switch, designed to clip onto a standard RC neck strap lanyard.
Is this radio open source? The stock firmware is proprietary Flysky firmware. However, there is a large community of modders who have created open-source alternative firmwares (like OpenI6X) to add even more features!
