Massive Airflow, Compact Design Standard PC cooling fans lack the static pressure needed for real suction. This 85W Vacuum Brushless Motor bridges the gap between toy fans and industrial shop-vacs. By drawing a hefty 85 Watts at 12V (roughly 7 Amps of continuous current), the internal brushless outrunner spins a specialized impeller at staggering speeds. This creates a high-pressure vacuum at the front port, making it ideal for sucking up debris, dust, and solder fumes, or expelling high-velocity air out the rear vents.
Integrated Smart Driver Board Driving high-speed brushless motors usually requires buying and tuning a bulky, expensive external Electronic Speed Controller (ESC). This motor solves that by integrating the driver board completely inside the rear housing. You simply provide 12V power to the thick cables, and use the thin 4-pin connector to interface directly with a 5V microcontroller.
Advanced Microcontroller Interface The motor provides a highly sophisticated control interface for smart projects:
Thick Red / Black: Main 12V Power and Ground.
Thin Red (EN): Enable pin to turn the motor on or off digitally.
Thin Green (PWM): Accepts a 1KHz 5V PWM signal to smoothly throttle the suction power from 0% to 100%.
Thin White (FG): Speed Feedback signal. Outputs a pulse so your Arduino can calculate the exact RPM of the fan in real-time.
Thin Black (GND): Logic ground for your microcontroller.
Note: When the motor is directly started, as long as the PWM green signal line is connected in series with a 10K resistor, it can run at the highest speed. For a direct start, the line must be connected and then energised; otherwise, the motor will not operate.

What is the operating voltage? The main power input requires a 12V DC power supply.
How much power does it draw? It is rated for 85 Watts, which means it will pull just over 7 Amps of continuous current at 12V. You should use a power supply rated for at least 10A to handle startup spikes.
Do I need to buy an external ESC? No, the brushless motor driver board is fully integrated into the white casing.
What are the thick Red and Black wires for? They are the main power inputs. Thick Red goes to 12V Positive, and Thick Black goes to 12V Negative (Ground).
How do I control the speed? The thin Green wire accepts a 5V PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal at a frequency of 1KHz to throttle the speed.
How do I make it run at maximum speed without an Arduino? According to the wiring diagram, if you want it to run constantly at its highest speed, you can pull the PWM line high by connecting a 10K resistor between the Green wire and a 5V positive logic source.
What does the thin Red (EN) wire do? It is the Enable pin. Applying a logic high signal turns the internal driver on, allowing the motor to spin.
What is the thin White (FG) wire? It provides Speed Feedback. It pulses as the motor spins, allowing a microcontroller to calculate the exact RPM.
Can I run this on 24V? No, it is specifically rated for a 12V system. 24V will destroy the integrated driver board.
Is this a vacuum or a blower? It does both! It sucks air forcefully into the front central hole and exhausts it forcefully out the rear ventilation holes.
Is it waterproof? No. The motor, internal circuit board, and exhaust vents are completely exposed. Sucking up water will cause an immediate short circuit.
Is it loud? Yes. Because it relies on extremely high RPMs to generate 85W of static pressure, it produces a loud, high-pitched vacuum whine during operation.
Can I use this for an RC hovercraft? Yes, it is an excellent choice for a DIY hovercraft skirt-inflation fan due to its high static pressure and built-in driver.
What are the connectors on the ends of the thick wires? They are pre-crimped female spade/bullet-style quick disconnect terminals.
Does the motor get hot? Yes, 85W generates heat. However, the motor is designed so that the massive volume of air it pulls through the casing actively cools the internal coils and circuit board.
Can I reverse the direction of the airflow? No. The physical impeller blades are curved to push air efficiently in one direction only. Reversing it electronically (if even supported by the board) would result in practically zero airflow.
What is the casing made from? The outer shroud is constructed from a lightweight, durable injection-molded plastic.
Can I run this from a 3S LiPo battery? Yes! A 3S LiPo provides 11.1V (12.6V fully charged), which is perfect for this 12V motor, making it great for portable robotic vacuums.
What size is the logic connector? It uses a standard 4-pin JST-style micro connector.
Can I 3D print a hose adapter for it? Absolutely. The cylindrical front profile features small mounting tabs and a central intake hole that is very easy to design a friction-fit or glued 3D-printed funnel for.
