RC 4 Wheel Drive Robot with Wifi ESP32 CAM Car Kit Unassembled DIY βΉ7,499.00 The Ducted Aerodynamic Advantage In traditional RC aircraft, open-air propellers lose a significant amount of efficiency due to air "slipping" off the tips of the spinning blades (tip vortices). An Electric Ducted Fan solves this by enclosing the impeller entirely within a tight-fitting cylindrical shroud. This design captures all the accelerated air and forces it straight out the back exhaust tube. The result is a dramatically higher "efflux velocity"—meaning the air exits much faster than a standard prop, providing the extreme top-end speeds required to make RC fighter jets fly realistically.
Pre-Assembled 6000KV Brushless Power Tuning and matching motors to EDF housings can be a frustrating process of trial and error. The AF45314B arrives pre-assembled with a perfectly matched 6000KV brushless outrunner motor. "6000KV" means that for every 1 volt of electricity applied, the motor wants to spin at 6,000 RPM. When connected to a fully charged 12.6V (3S) LiPo battery, this rigid structure is capable of surviving rotational speeds up to a blistering 53,740 RPM without shattering! Furthermore, the blue plastic shroud is aerodynamically designed to act as a heat sink, continuously pulling cool intake air over the spinning motor bell to prevent thermal failure during aggressive flight sessions.
8-Blade Impeller & Factory Balancing At over 50,000 RPM, even a fraction of a millimeter of physical imbalance will cause the entire unit to vibrate violently, tearing itself out of your foam airplane. Aeorc mitigates this by utilizing an advanced 8-blade composite impeller that is dynamically balanced from the factory. The 8-blade configuration specifically offers a superior "whoosh" acoustic sound profile—mimicking a real turbine engine—while providing a highly stable and dense column of thrust.

Key Applications and Projects
Micro RC Fighter Jets: Retrofitting or scratch-building 1/32 scale foam board jets (like an F-16 or L-39) requiring high-speed internal propulsion.
High-Speed Airboats: Mounting the EDF on a pivotal servo above a flat-bottomed foam hull to build a frictionless swamp boat that skims across water and ice.
VTOL Drones: Utilizing arrays of small 45mm EDFs on articulating arms to build a custom Vertical Take-Off and Landing aircraft.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution) The 3D-Printed Thrust-Vectoring Jet: Take your aerodynamics knowledge to the next level! Print a lightweight, single-engine jet airframe out of LW-PLA (Lightweight PLA) on your 3D printer. Mount this 45mm EDF internally. Instead of relying on traditional ailerons and elevators on the wings, design a 2-axis gimbal nozzle for the rear exhaust of the EDF, controlled by two fast micro-servos. By mechanically redirecting the 436g thrust column directly from the motor exhaust, you have created a "Thrust Vectoring" jet capable of performing impossible post-stall acrobatic maneuvers like flat spins and backflips!
Package Includes:
1 x Aeorc AF45314B 45mm 8-Blade EDF Shroud
1 x 6000KV Brushless Motor (Pre-installed and factory balanced)
Q: What does EDF stand for? EDF stands for Electric Ducted Fan. It is a propulsion system that utilizes an electric brushless motor to spin a multi-blade fan inside a cylindrical duct, commonly used in RC model jets.
Q: What size battery do I need for this? This specific 6000KV setup is strictly designed for a 3S LiPo battery (11.1V nominal, 12.6V fully charged). Ensure your battery has a high enough "C-Rating" to safely deliver the required 30 Amps of continuous current.
Q: Can I run this on a 4S (14.8V) battery for more speed? No. Supplying 14.8V to a 6000KV motor will force it to attempt to spin at nearly 90,000 RPM. This will draw massive amounts of current, instantly burning out the motor coils and potentially shattering the plastic blades.
Q: What size Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) do I need? Because the motor pulls a maximum of 28.5 Amps at 12.6V, you must use a Brushless ESC rated for a minimum of 30A. A 40A ESC is highly recommended to provide a safe thermal buffer.
Q: How much thrust does this actually produce? According to factory tests, at a full 12.6V, the unit pulls 28.5 Amps and produces approximately 436 grams of thrust.
Q: Why does the motor have three bare wires instead of two? This is a 3-phase AC brushless motor, not a standard DC brushed motor. It cannot be connected directly to a battery. The three wires must be connected to the three output pads of a Brushless ESC, which electronically pulses the phases to make the motor spin.
Q: How do I change the direction of the airflow if it is blowing the wrong way? If the fan is spinning backward (blowing air out the front instead of the back), simply disconnect any TWO of the three motor wires from the ESC and swap their positions. This reverses the electronic phasing and will reverse the motor direction.
Q: Do I need to balance the fan blades? No, the AF45314B comes pre-assembled and dynamically balanced from the factory. Taking the impeller off or attempting to modify the blades will ruin the balance and cause severe vibrations.
Q: What is the outer dimension for cutting a hole in my foam plane? The main cylindrical body has an outer diameter of approximately 48mm, while the flared front intake lip has an outer diameter of 55.6mm. You typically want to carve a tight 48mm channel into your foam to friction-fit the main body.
Q: Can I run this outside of a duct, just as a propeller? No. The blades on an EDF impeller have completely flat tips specifically designed to run within millimeters of the shroud wall. Without the shroud, they are incredibly inefficient and will produce almost no thrust.
Q: Why is my EDF vibrating violently at half throttle? If it vibrated out of the box, it may have been damaged in shipping. However, vibrations are most commonly caused by sucking up a tiny piece of debris (like a rock or blade of grass) which chips a blade, or by mounting the EDF housing so tightly in your plane that the blue plastic shroud flexes, causing the spinning blades to scrape the inside wall.
Q: Is the blue housing made of metal? No, the blue translucent housing and the 8-blade impeller are injection-molded from a high-strength composite plastic. Only the internal motor bell is made of machined aluminum.
