Linear Ball Bearing Slide Unit CNC 3D Printer SC12UU 12 mm ₹699.00 The 10mm Heavyweight Solution When 8mm shafts are no longer strong enough for your project, 10mm is the next engineering standard. The 6200Z is perfectly dimensioned for these upgraded applications, featuring a 10mm inner bore, a robust 30mm outer diameter, and a 9mm thickness. This larger volume allows for larger internal steel balls and deeper raceways, dramatically increasing the amount of radial force (weight) the bearing can support without deforming or failing. It is a staple in electric motors, power tools, and high-torque drivetrains.
Metal Shield Protection (Z) High-speed rotation naturally attracts dust, which can quickly grind away internal bearing tracks. The "Z" designation indicates that this bearing is equipped with a precision-stamped metal shield over the ball race. This non-contact shield acts as a physical barrier against grit, sawdust, and metal shavings, while simultaneously locking in the factory-applied lubricating grease. Because the shield does not physically rub against the inner ring, it introduces zero drag, allowing the bearing to spin efficiently at thousands of RPMs.
Deep Groove Efficiency As a deep groove ball bearing, the 6200Z is optimized for "radial" loads—forces pushing down perpendicular to the 10mm shaft. The hardened bearing steel construction ensures that vibrations are minimized and kinetic energy is preserved, making it an entirely maintenance-free component for continuous-duty mechanical systems.
Model Designation: 6200Z

Electric Motor Repair: Serving as the primary replacement armature bearing for common AC/DC electric motors, power drills, and grinders.
Heavy-Duty Robotics Drivetrains: Acting as the main load-bearing wheel support for 10mm axles on combat robots or autonomous rovers.
Industrial Conveyor Rollers: Providing the low-friction pivot points for heavy DIY conveyor belts or woodworking outfeed tables.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
The Custom Electric Scooter Hub: Evolve your mobility projects! Many DIY electric scooters and e-bikes utilize 10mm axles. By using a pair of 6200Z bearings, you can design and 3D print a custom, heavy-duty wheel hub. Press the bearings into your custom hub, slide it over a 10mm threaded axle, and attach a high-torque brushless motor via a chain and sprocket. The 6200 series provides the massive radial load capacity needed to safely support a human rider at high speeds!
Package Includes:

What does "6200Z" mean? "6" signifies a deep groove ball bearing. "2" denotes the light dimensional series. "00" is the industry code for a 10mm bore. "Z" indicates it features a metal shield.
What are the exact dimensions? The bearing measures 10mm (inner bore) x 30mm (outer diameter) x 9mm (width).
What is the difference between 6200Z and 6200ZZ? "Z" technically indicates a single metal shield on one side, while "ZZ" indicates shields on both sides. Manufacturers often use them interchangeably, but a true "Z" will have one side open.
How is this different from an LM10UU bearing? An LM10UU is a linear bearing meant to slide up and down a rod. The 6200Z is a radial bearing meant to spin around a stationary shaft (or support a spinning shaft).
Do I need to grease or oil these? No. The metal shields signify that the bearing is packed with grease at the factory and is designed to be maintenance-free.
Are these bearings waterproof? No. While the metal shields deflect solid debris, liquids can easily seep past the tiny clearances and rust the internal steel balls.
What is the maximum RPM this bearing can handle? Due to its non-contact metal shield and high-quality steel, a 6200Z bearing can comfortably operate at speeds exceeding 20,000 RPM under normal loads.
Can I use this for axial (thrust) loads? Deep groove bearings are built primarily for radial loads (forces perpendicular to the shaft). They can handle light axial loads, but heavy side-to-side pushing will cause premature failure.
How do I properly press-fit this bearing into a housing? When pressing the bearing into a 30mm hole, apply pressure only to the outer metal ring. Pressing on the inner ring will crush the balls against the raceway.
How do I press it onto a 10mm shaft? When sliding it onto a tight 10mm shaft, apply pressure only to the inner ring.
Why does the bearing code end in "00" for a 10mm bore? In bearing standards, bore codes 00 through 03 are unique: 00 = 10mm, 01 = 12mm, 02 = 15mm, and 03 = 17mm. (From 04 onward, you multiply the code by 5 to get the bore size).
Is this bearing magnetic? Yes, the high-carbon bearing steel used in its construction is magnetic.
How much weight can a single 6200Z bearing support? The static load rating is approximately 2.39 kN (about 243 kg / 537 lbs), making it incredibly strong for its size.
Can I clean these bearings in an ultrasonic cleaner? Doing so will wash away the factory-applied grease. Because you cannot easily remove and replace metal shields without bending them, this is not recommended.
Can I remove the metal shield? Yes, you can carefully pry it out with a sharp pick if you need an open bearing, but you will not be able to securely reinstall it.
Why does my brand new bearing feel slightly stiff when I spin it by hand? New bearings are packed with thick factory grease. They require a short "break-in" period under mechanical load to distribute the grease evenly, after which they will spin much more freely.
What is the maximum operating temperature? Standard bearing steel and grease can typically withstand continuous operating temperatures up to roughly 120°C (248°F).
Can I use this on a standard 10mm threaded rod? Yes, but threaded rods are slightly undersized and have sharp threads that do not provide a perfectly concentric fit. A smooth 10mm precision shaft is highly recommended for high speeds.
Is this the same bearing used in skateboards? No. Skateboards use 608 series bearings, which have an 8mm bore and a 22mm outer diameter.
Can I 3D print a press-fit housing for this bearing? Absolutely. Design your 3D printed hole to be roughly 30.1mm to 30.2mm (depending on your printer's tolerances) for a snug, secure friction fit around the outer ring.
