Extreme-performance 200A Brushless DC motor controller. Supports 2-7S LiPo or 6-20 cell Ni-MH batteries and features an integrated 5V/5A UBEC to power receivers and servos.
Unleash massive thrust and torque for your largest projects. The Red Brick 200A ESC is engineered for makers and RC enthusiasts who have outgrown standard 30A and 60A controllers. Whether you are building an oversized fixed-wing aircraft, a powerful agricultural quadcopter, or a DIY electric skateboard, this module easily handles the massive amp-draw required by high-torque outrunner and inrunner brushless motors.
Integrated UBEC for Simplified Wiring. One of the most valuable features of this specific ESC is the onboard 5V/5A UBEC (Universal Battery Eliminator Circuit). Standard ESCs often drop their built-in power outputs when using high-voltage batteries (like 6S or 7S LiPos). The Red Brick's UBEC steps down the massive main battery voltage efficiently, providing a clean, sustained 5 Amps at 5 Volts directly through the receiver cable. This allows you to power a flight controller, radio receiver, and multiple heavy-duty servos directly from the ESC, eliminating the need to carry a secondary, separate receiver battery onboard.

Motor Wires: 3 x Bare thick-gauge silicone wires
Power Wires: 2 x Bare thick-gauge silicone wires (Red/Black)
Signal Wire: Standard 3-pin JR/Futaba style with EMF ferrite ring
Heavy-Lift Multi-rotors: Providing reliable power to massive multi-rotor platforms used for carrying DSLR cameras or agricultural payloads.
Large Scale RC Aircraft: Driving high-KV ducted fans or massive prop outrunners in 1/4 scale RC planes.
DIY Electric Vehicles: Acting as a cost-effective speed controller for custom electric longboards, scooters, or underwater ROV thrusters.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
Interference Reduction: The pre-installed green ferrite ring on the signal wire ensures that the massive magnetic fields generated by 200A of current do not scramble the PWM signal coming from your receiver.
High-Voltage Transition: Move away from parallel low-voltage battery packs and upgrade to a single, highly efficient 7S LiPo (25.9V) system to achieve higher RPMs and lower overall system heat.
Package Includes:
What is the maximum continuous current this ESC can handle? It is rated for 200 Amps of continuous current draw.
What types of batteries does it support? It supports Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries from 2S to 7S, and Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) from 6 to 20 cells.
What does "UBEC 5V/5A" mean? UBEC stands for Universal Battery Eliminator Circuit. It takes the high voltage from your main battery and safely converts it to a 5V output at up to 5 Amps to power your radio receiver and servos.
Can I use this with a standard brushed DC motor? No, this is an Electronic Speed Controller designed specifically for 3-phase Brushless DC (BLDC) motors only.
What are the three thick black wires for? These are the three phase wires (A, B, C) that connect directly to your brushless motor.
How do I reverse the motor direction? Simply swap the connection of any two of the three black motor wires.
What are the red and black wires for? The thick red and black wires are the main power inputs that connect to your LiPo battery.
Does it come with connectors soldered on? No, the power and motor wires come bare. You will need to solder your own heavy-duty connectors (like XT90, AS150, or large bullet connectors).
What is the green ring on the thin wire? That is a ferrite ring (choke). It prevents electromagnetic interference (EMI) from the high-power lines from corrupting the delicate PWM control signal.
How do I connect this to my receiver or Arduino? Plug the thin 3-pin connector (White/Red/Black) into the throttle channel of your RC receiver or the PWM pin of your microcontroller.
Do I need a separate battery to power my receiver? No, the built-in 5V/5A UBEC will power the receiver directly through the 3-pin signal cable.
Can I bypass the internal BEC if I want to use my own? Yes, you can disable the internal BEC by carefully removing the middle (red) wire from the 3-pin receiver plug and isolating it with heat shrink.
Is this ESC waterproof? No, it is wrapped in standard heat-shrink tubing. While somewhat splash-resistant, it must be protected or waterproofed if used in RC boats or ROVs.
How do I calibrate the throttle range? Standard calibration applies: Turn on your transmitter, push the throttle to 100%, power on the ESC, wait for the calibration beeps, then pull the throttle down to 0%.
Does it have a Low Voltage Cutoff (LVC)? Yes, standard ESCs feature LVC to prevent your LiPo batteries from over-discharging and getting damaged.
Is it programmable? Yes, Red Brick ESCs can typically be programmed either via transmitter stick commands (listening to beep codes) or with a compatible programming card.
Can I use this on a multi-rotor / drone? Yes, but due to its size and weight, it is only suitable for very large, heavy-lift agricultural or cinema drones.
Will it overheat at 200A? Generating 200A of current produces significant heat. Ensure the ESC is mounted in a location with excellent airflow, especially if pushing it near its maximum rating.
Can I run an 8S battery on this? No, the maximum rated voltage is 7S (approx. 29.4V fully charged). Using an 8S battery will destroy the internal capacitors.
Why are the motor wires all black? Brushless motors operate on AC-like 3-phase power. Because there is no fixed positive/negative polarity going to the motor, they are often colored the same to signify they are interchangeable phase wires.
