The stock Z-axis motor mount on many Creality printers (Ender 3, V2, Pro) is made of injection-moulded plastic. Over time, or due to heat from the stepper motor, this plastic can flex or crack, causing the lead screw to lean. This misalignment results in "Z-Banding" (visible horizontal lines) on your prints.
This All-Metal Upgrade Bracket is CNC-machined from 6061 Aluminium Alloy. It creates a rock-solid, vibration-free connection between your Z-axis motor and the printer frame. The result? A perfectly vertical lead screw, smoother Z-travel, and higher-quality surface finishes on your 3D prints.
Precision CNC Machining: Unlike cast metal parts that can be warped, this bracket is machined flat. This ensures the motor sits perfectly perpendicular to the frame, preventing the dreaded "lead screw binding."
Adjustable Alignment: The mounting holes are slightly slotted. This allows you to slide the motor position slightly left or right during installation to ensure the lead screw is perfectly centred in the brass nut, reducing wear on your machine.
Material: Aluminium Alloy (Anodised Black)
Motor Compatibility: NEMA 17 (Standard 42mm Stepper Motors)
Frame Compatibility: 2040 V-Slot Aluminium Extrusion
Mounting Hardware: Included (T-Nuts and Screws)
Thickness: 4mm (Heavy Duty)
Fitment Models:
Creality Ender 3 / 3 Pro / 3 V2 / 3 Neo
Creality CR-10 / CR-10S
Voxelab Aquila
Anycubic Vyper (Check hole spacing)
Fixing Z-Banding: Replaces a bent or cracked plastic stock mount.
High-Temperature Printing: Aluminium acts as a heatsink, helping to dissipate heat from the Z-motor during long prints.
Dual Z-Axis Upgrade: Essential if you are adding a second lead screw to your printer.
Remove Old Mount: Unplug the printer. Remove the Z-rod. Unscrew the two T-nuts holding the old plastic mount to the vertical frame.
Transfer Motor: Remove the motor from the old plastic mount and screw it onto this new Metal Mount using the included M3 screws.
Align Before Tightening: Mount the assembly loosely to the frame. Re-insert the Lead Screw. Move the X-gantry up and down by hand.
Pro Tip: Adjust the position of the metal bracket left/right until the lead screw drops straight into the coupler without you having to "force" it.
Tighten: Once aligned, tighten the frame screws firmly.
Included:
1 x Aluminium Motor Bracket
2 x M4/M5 Screws + T-Nuts (for mounting to frame)
2 x M3 Screws (for mounting motor to bracket)
Required (Sold Separately):
Allen Keys (usually included with your printer)

Why should I replace the plastic one?
Plastic flexes under load and heat. Metal is rigid, ensuring your Z-axis stays straight permanently.
Will this fit the Ender 3 V2?
Yes, it is a direct drop-in replacement for the Ender 3 V2.
Does it come with screws?
Yes, it includes the screws and T-nuts needed to mount it to the aluminium profile.
Do I need to re-level my bed after installing?
Yes. Since you are moving the Z-motor slightly, your Z-limit switch trigger point might change. Always re-level after mechanical work.
Does this fix "Elephant's Foot"?
Not directly, but it helps. Elephant's foot is usually bed temperature-related, but binding the Z-axis can make it worse.
Can I use this for the Y-axis motor?
No. This bracket is shaped specifically for the Z-axis (vertical) extrusion. Y-axis mounts are different.
Is it compatible with NEMA 23 motors?
No, the hole spacing is for standard NEMA 17 (42mm) motors.
Will it fit the CR-10?
Yes, most CR-10 series printers use the same Z-mount design.
Does it act as a heatsink?
Yes! Aluminium conducts heat away from the motor face, keeping your stepper cooler than plastic would.
Why are the holes slotted?
To allow for "Fine Tuning." Not all frames are perfectly square. The slots let you slide the motor to match your lead screw's natural position.
Do I need longer screws?
No, the included screws are the correct length.
Is it difficult to install?
No, it takes about 10-15 minutes.
Will it work with a Dual Z-Axis kit?
Yes, most Dual Z kits actually include a bracket like this. If yours broke, this is a perfect replacement.
Does it fit the Ender 3 S1?
The S1 has a slightly different frame setup. Please check your specific mounting holes visually before buying.
What if my T-nuts aren't locking?
Ensure the T-nut is vertical inside the slot before tightening. Sometimes they need a little poke with an Allen key to rotate 90 degrees.
Can I paint it?
It is anodised black, but yes, you can spray paint it if you want a custom colour.
Is the bearing included?
No, this is just the Motor Mount. The bearing block for the top of the rod is a different part.
Does it fit the Ender 5?
No, the Ender 5 Z-axis is totally different.
Will this fit the Voxelab Aquila?
Yes, the Aquila is an Ender 3 V2 clone and uses the same mounting.
Is the material steel or aluminium?
It is an aluminium alloy (lightweight and rigid).
