Uno R3 Basic Starter Programming Educational Kit ₹999.00
Uno R3 Super Starter Programming Educational Kit ₹2,199.00
Raspberry Pi Pico Basic Starter Programming Educational Kit ₹1,699.00
Super Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi Educational Programming ₹2,299.00 The Solenoid Valve 24V DC 0.5 inch is the preferred choice for professional automation, water purification systems, and heavy-duty robotics. While 12V is common for hobbyists, 24V DC is the industry standard for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), trucks/buses, and long-distance wiring setups where voltage drop is a concern. This Normally Closed (NC) valve provides reliable, pilot-operated control for water lines, making it the robust heart of your fluid management system.
Probots™ LifeCycle Ready : We stock this 24V variant specifically to support long-term maintenance of RO (Reverse Osmosis) systems and industrial machinery. It isn't just a "one-off" hobby part; it's a replacement spare you can rely on.
Probots™ Secure-Transit : Solenoid terminals are prone to bending during shipping. We package these valves with terminal guards to ensure they arrive ready for your spade connectors or soldering.
Operating Voltage: 24V DC (Standard Industrial)
Current Consumption: ~200mA to 300mA (Efficient low-current draw)
Valve Type: Normally Closed (NC) - Stays closed when unpowered.
Port Size: 1/2 inch (0.5") External Thread (G1/2)
Working Pressure: 0.02 Mpa – 0.8 Mpa (Pressure required to actuate; NOT for gravity feed).
Flow Character: Unidirectional
Fluid Medium: Water / Low-viscosity fluids (0-60°C)
Inlet Filter: Stainless steel mesh (Removable).
Material: Reinforced Nylon Body, Brass/Steel Internal Plunger.
PLC Automation: Directly integrate with 24V PLC Output Cards (Relay or Transistor type) to control cooling water for machinery.
RO Water Purifiers: The standard inlet valve for many commercial and domestic Reverse Osmosis units.
Truck & Bus Utilities: Ideal for windshield washer systems or auxiliary water tanks in 24V vehicles.
Long-Distance Irrigation: 24V allows for thinner wires over longer distances compared to 12V systems due to lower current draw.
Prerequisite: You may have used 12V valves for small prototypes but found them struggling with voltage drop over long garden wires.
The Upgrade: Switching to 24V DC reduces current by half for the same power, allowing you to place valves 20-30 meters away from your controller using standard cabling.
Effort Level: Intermediate/Professional. Requires a 24V power source and appropriate switching logic.
Switching Logic: You cannot drive this directly from a 3.3V/5V microcontroller.
Recommended: Use a 24V Relay Module or an Industrial MOSFET Module (e.g., IRF520 module).
Back EMF Protection: If building your own driver, you MUST use a flyback diode (1N4007) across the valve terminals to protect your switching transistor from high-voltage spikes when the valve turns off.
Power Supply: Requires a 24V SMPS or Battery. Do not attempt to run on 12V; the magnetic field will be too weak to open the diaphragm against water pressure.
Required (Sold Separately):
1-Channel Relay Module (5V or 12V)
1/2" Female Threaded Pipe Connectors
Teflon Tape (for leak-proof sealing)
Waterproof Junction Box
Will this work on a 12V system?
No. At 12V, the solenoid will not generate enough magnetic force to lift the plunger. It may click but won't open water flow.
Can I use this with a PLC?
Yes! This is designed for 24V PLC systems. Ensure your output card can sink/source ~300mA or use an interposing relay.
Does it work with Gravity Feed (0 PSI)?
No. It requires a minimum pressure (approx 3 PSI or 0.02 Mpa) to operate. It will not work for a tank just a few inches above the valve.
Is it suitable for continuous duty (Always ON)?
It can handle 1-2 hours ON time, but for 24/7 "Open" applications, a Motorized Ball Valve is superior as it doesn't heat up.
What happens if I connect it backwards?
Water will leak through even when the valve is closed. Follow the arrow on the bottom of the casing.
Can I use this for diesel or kerosene?
No. The rubber seals (usually NBR/EPDM) may swell or degrade with fuels. Use valves specifically rated for fuel.
Probots™ Material-Check ????: This valve is optimized for Water.
Is the coil replaceable?
In most units, the coil is removable, but we sell the complete unit. It's often cheaper to replace the whole valve.
How do I seal the threads?
Use Teflon (PTFE) Tape. Wrap 10-12 times clockwise around the male threads before screwing on the connector.
Can I use this for hot water?
Rated up to ~60°C. For boiling water or steam, you need a Brass/Stainless Steel valve with Viton seals.
Why is the 24V version better than 12V?
Efficiency. Higher voltage means lower current, which means you can use thinner wires for longer runs without losing power.
Is it polarity sensitive?
No. Being a simple coil, you can connect +24V and GND to either terminal.
What creates the "Water Hammer" noise?
Solenoids close instantly. This can cause a pressure shockwave (bang) in pipes. If this happens, install a water hammer arrestor.
Can I use this outdoors?
Only if installed in a Waterproof Box. The coil terminals will corrode if exposed to rain.
Is it food safe?
No. It is industrial-grade plastic. Do not use for dispensing beverages.
What is the max pressure?
0.8 Mpa (approx 116 PSI). Standard household water pressure is usually 40-60 PSI, so it's well within range.
Does it need lubrication?
No. The water itself acts as the lubricant for the internal plunger.
Why does it hum?
AC valves hum; DC valves (like this one) should be silent. If it hums, check if your power supply has "ripple" or is unstable.
Can I control flow speed?
No, it is strictly ON/OFF.
What is the port thread standard?
G1/2 (BSP Parallel). Compatible with standard hardware store plumbing fittings.
How do I clean the filter?
Unscrew the water inlet pipe, and use pliers to gently pull the metal mesh out. Rinse and re-insert.
