This dedicated holder is precision-molded to securely grip a single 21700 cell. The side of the plastic housing explicitly indicates it is designed for a single 21700 cell via its molded text. By using this holder, you can seamlessly integrate massive power reserves into your custom PCB designs without relying on messy wires or glue.
True Surface Mount (SMD) Design Unlike through-hole components that require drilling and take up space on both sides of a PCB, this holder is designed for modern Surface Mount Technology (SMT). It features robust, flat metal tabs that extend outward from the base at both ends. These wide solder pads provide an excellent surface area for solder paste, ensuring a strong mechanical bond to your circuit board that can withstand the weight of the battery during insertion and removal.
Low-Resistance, High-Retention Contacts To handle the high current discharge rates typical of 21700 cells, the holder features specialized metal spring contacts. The negative terminal contact is equipped with a raised, dimpled texture (a grid of 9 small bumps) designed to bite into the battery casing, minimizing electrical resistance and maximizing physical grip. The positive terminal features a single, distinct circular protrusion to ensure a solid connection against the flat top of the battery.
