This ACEBOTT QD007 Robot Arm Pack is a Smart Robot Car Kit (QD001) Expansion Pack. Upgrade your ACEBOTT QD001 with this Robot Arm Pack (QD007). Features multi-axis control for gripping and lifting. Easy assembly. Official expansion kit.
Turn Your Robot Car into a Mobile Manipulator. You have built the car, driven it around, and avoided obstacles. But what if your robot could interact with the world? The ACEBOTT QD007 Robot Arm Expansion Pack transforms your standard QD001 Smart Car into a 5-DOF (Degree of Freedom) mobile manipulator. This isn't just a static arm; it mounts directly onto your existing chassis, allowing you to drive up to an object, grab it, lift it, and transport it to a new location. It’s the ultimate upgrade for students and hobbyists ready to move from "remote control" to "robotics engineering."
Quality Advantage: Precision & Integration. Many robot arm kits are standalone units that require their own bulky power supplies and controllers. The QD007 is engineered to integrate seamlessly with your ACEBOTT QD001 Smart Car. It draws power directly from the car's existing battery system and plugs into the expansion ports on your ESP32 Shield. The structure is made from high-quality, laser-cut components that bolt securely to the chassis, ensuring the arm doesn't wobble or detach while lifting payloads. Probots™ ProSpec Grade servos ensure consistent torque for reliable gripping action.
Note: This is only the Robot Arm pack for the Smart Robot Car Kit to expand the functionality.
Key Applications & Projects
Search & Rescue Simulation: Program the car to navigate a maze, identify a "victim" (small object), and lift them to safety.
Warehouse Automation: Create a line-following logic where the car stops at designated stations to pick up or drop off cargo.
Remote Disposal Bot: Use the mobile app to drive the car into "hazardous" areas (under the couch?) and remove debris without touching it.
Sorting Challenge: Combine with the color sensor (from your base car kit) to pick up red blocks and ignore blue ones.
Specifications
Model: ACEBOTT QD007 Expansion Pack.
Degrees of Freedom (DOF): 5-Axis Movement (Base Rotation, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Gripper).
Actuators: 4x SG90 Micro Servos (Joints) + 1x Gripper Servo.
Control Interface: Connects to ACEBOTT ESP32 Shield (PWM Servo Ports).
Gripper Range: Opens approx. 45-50mm (Fits standard blocks, ping pong balls).
Payload Capacity: Designed for lightweight objects (foam blocks, small plastic items).
Mounting: Specialised mounting plate for QD001 Chassis.
Compatibility: Strictly for Smart Robot Car Kit (QD001). (Not a standalone product).
Project Evolution
Prerequisite: You must own the ACEBOTT QD001 Smart Car Kit. This pack does not function without the car's battery and controller.
The Upgrade: This moves you from 2D robotics (driving on a floor) to 3D robotics (manipulating space). You will learn Inverse Kinematics basics—calculating how to move three joints to reach one specific point in the air.
Effort Level: Intermediate. Requires assembling the mechanical arm structure and cable management.
Virtual Technician & Wiring Guide
⚠️ Power Warning: Servos draw significant current. Ensure your 18650 batteries are fully charged before operating the arm. Low voltage will cause the ESP32 to reset when the arm tries to lift.
Pin Mapping: The servos typically connect to the dedicated Servo Header on the ESP32 Shield.
Base Servo: Pin 13
Shoulder Servo: Pin 12
Elbow Servo: Pin 14
Claw Servo: Pin 27
(Note: Verify exact pin definitions in the ACEBOTT code/manual as they may vary by shield version).
