Control heavy-duty accessories on your RC vehicle safely. This 20A electronic switch uses a standard PWM receiver signal to instantly toggle a separate 3-30V DC power line on and off. Perfect for high-power LED light bars, smoke generators, and water pumps.
Heavy-Duty Remote Switching The golden rule of RC building is that you should never draw heavy power through your delicate radio receiver. This 20A Electronic Switch solves that problem by acting as a digital middleman. It features a standard 3-pin connector that plugs into any spare channel on your receiver. When you flip a switch on your radio transmitter, it sends a PWM signal to the module. The internal MOSFETs then snap shut, allowing electricity to flow from your main battery to your accessory.
Wide 3-30V Power Range Versatility is key when dealing with custom electronics. The power circuit on this switch is entirely isolated from the 5V receiver circuit. The heavy-duty red and black wires are rated to handle a massive input voltage range of 3V to 30V DC. This means you can use it to switch a tiny 3.7V (1S LiPo) circuit for micro drone lights, all the way up to a massive 22.2V (6S LiPo) circuit to power high-torque winch motors on a 1/10 scale rock crawler.
Simple Diagnostics & Connectivity Troubleshooting RC wiring can be frustrating, but this switch makes it easy. Hidden under the clear protective heat shrink is a bright Status LED. When the switch receives the "ON" signal from your radio, the LED illuminates, confirming that the module is actively passing power. The power input and output lines come pre-crimped with standard red JST-SYP connectors, allowing for quick, plug-and-play installation for most lightweight accessories.
Note:
Control Signal: Standard RC PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)
Maximum Current Rating: 20 Amps
Operating Voltage Range (Power Line): 3.0V to 30.0V DC
Receiver Connector: 3-Pin JR/Futaba Style (Black, Red, White)
Power Connectors: JST-SYP Red (Input & Output)
Diagnostics: Onboard Status LED
Night-Flying Drones: Remotely toggling blindingly bright 12V LED light bars on a quadcopter so they don't drain the battery during the daytime.
RC Fireboats: Activating a 24V water pump on a scale tugboat to shoot a stream of water remotely from the middle of a pond.
Scale RC Tanks: Triggering a heating element inside a mineral-oil smoke generator to create realistic exhaust smoke on command.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
The Arduino Automated Payload Drop: This switch isn't just for RC remotes! Because it runs on standard PWM, you can hook the 3-pin receiver wire directly to an Arduino. Evolve your drone! Hook this switch up to an electromagnetic payload release hook. Program the Arduino with a GPS module so that when the drone reaches a specific geographic coordinate, the Arduino automatically sends a servo.write() PWM signal to this switch, triggering the hook to drop your payload with zero human input!
Package Includes:

What does this electronic switch actually do? It acts as a remote-controlled on/off button. It allows you to use your RC transmitter to turn heavy-duty accessories (like lights or pumps) on and off.
Is this a speed controller (ESC)? No. It is strictly a digital relay. It only provides 100% ON or 100% OFF power states. It cannot proportionally control the speed of a motor.
What is the maximum current it can handle? It is rated to handle a maximum peak current of 20 Amps.
What is the voltage range for the power lines? The power input side can safely handle anywhere from 3V DC up to 30V DC.
Does this module power my radio receiver? No. This switch does not have a BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit). You must power your receiver separately.
How do I connect it to my RC receiver? The cable with the black 3-pin connector plugs directly into a spare auxiliary channel on your receiver.
Which channel on my transmitter should I use? You should assign it to an auxiliary channel (like CH5 or CH6) that is controlled by a 2-position toggle switch on your remote.
What do the two red connectors do? One connector is the "Power Input" (plug your battery in here). The other is the "Power Output" (plug your lights or accessory in here).
How do I know if it is receiving the "ON" signal? There is a small blue or red Status LED on the circuit board. It will light up when the switch is activated and passing power.
Will this reverse the direction of a motor? No. It is a single-directional switch. It only connects or disconnects the positive wire.
Can I use this to trigger a DSLR camera shutter? Usually not. Most camera shutters require a dry contact closure (bridging two signal wires). This switch physically outputs battery voltage, which could fry a camera.
Is the circuit board waterproof? No. It is wrapped in clear heat shrink tubing to protect it from dust and short circuits, but it is not sealed against water.
Can I use it with an Arduino or Raspberry Pi? Yes, absolutely. You can trigger it by sending a standard Servo PWM signal from a microcontroller.
What happens if I plug a 35V battery into it? Exceeding the 30V limit will permanently destroy the internal switching MOSFETs.
Do I need a completely separate battery for my lights? You can use a separate battery, or you can solder a Y-splitter cable to your main drive battery to feed this switch.
Why isn't my accessory turning on? First, verify your transmitter switch is assigned correctly. Second, check that the Status LED on the board turns on. Third, ensure you haven't swapped the input and output JST connectors.
What is the exact PWM trigger threshold? Like a standard servo, a signal above ~1500us (microseconds) usually turns the switch ON, and a signal below ~1500us turns it OFF.
Can I cut off the red JST connectors? Yes. If you are drawing close to the full 20A, the factory JST connectors will likely melt. You should cut them off and solder on heavy-duty XT60 connectors or solder your wires directly.
Are the receiver side and the power side electrically isolated? Yes, the power being switched (3-30V) is kept separate from the delicate 5V logic circuit of your receiver.
Will this work on a tiny 1S (3.7V) LiPo battery? Yes, because the minimum operating voltage is 3.0V, it is perfectly safe to use on micro-drones running 1S power.
