Build the ultimate speed rig with the A2212 2700KV brushless motor. Features bare, pre-tinned phase wires for custom direct-soldering. Includes an aluminum X-mount, machine screws, and a collet-style prop adapter.
The Apex of the A2212 Series (2700KV) If 2450KV wasn't fast enough for you, the A2212 KV2700 pushes the absolute physical limits of this stator size. With a mind-boggling 2700 RPM per volt (unloaded), this motor behaves like an electric ducted fan. To prevent burning the stator coils from excessive amp draw, you must use a very small propeller—typically a 4-inch (4045) or 5-inch (5030) maximum on a 3S LiPo. This setup produces a screaming, high-velocity jet of air, making it the top choice for RC pylon racers and micro jet profiles.
Custom Direct-Solder Ready Unlike lower KV variants that come with pre-installed bullet connectors, the 2700KV model arrives with bare, pre-tinned phase wires (Red, Black, and Yellow). In ultra-high-speed planes, bulky brass bullet connectors add unnecessary weight and introduce a point of failure that can rattle loose under extreme vibration. By providing bare wires, you can cut them to the exact millimeter you need and direct-solder them straight to your ESC pads for a flawless, lightweight, competitive build.
Comprehensive Hardware Bundle Despite its specialized wiring, this motor still includes the full standard suite of mounting hardware:
Aluminum X-Mount: A durable cross-bracket that bolts onto the motor casing, providing a widely spaced four-hole footprint for securely bolting to your airplane's firewall.
Mounting Screws: Four countersunk machine screws are provided to mount the X-bracket flush against the motor.
Collet Propeller Adapter: This silver adapter slides over the smooth center shaft. Tightening the top nut down onto your propeller forces the slotted base to compress, biting aggressively onto the shaft to prevent propeller slip at 30,000+ RPMs.
Motor Model: A2212
KV Rating: 2700KV (Ultra Speed)
Connectors: Bare Tinned Wire Ends (NO plugs)
Motor Type: Brushless Outrunner
Phase Wires: 3 (Red, Black, Yellow)
Housing Color: Gold and Silver
RC Pylon Racers: Powering specialized, aerodynamic fixed-wing aircraft designed exclusively for closed-course high-speed racing.
Micro Park Jets: Upgrading small profile foam jets (like F-16 or F-18 scratch builds) where a high-velocity pusher configuration is required.
Custom EDF Alternatives: Used in projects where a ducted fan is too expensive, utilizing this 2700KV motor and a 4-inch prop to simulate jet thrust.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
The Competition-Grade Direct Solder Build: Bullet connectors are convenient, but they are heavy and bulky. Evolve your high-speed build by removing connectors from the equation entirely. Snip the ESC motor leads short, and direct-solder the bare tinned wires of this 2700KV motor directly to the ESC's PCB pads. You will save valuable grams, improve the aerodynamics inside your fuselage, and completely eliminate the risk of a plug disconnecting mid-flight at 100mph!
Package Includes:
1 x A2212 KV2700 Brushless Motor (Bare Wire Ends)
1 x Aluminum X-Mount Bracket
1 x Collet-Style Propeller Adapter
4 x Countersunk Mounting Screws

What does "KV2700" mean? KV stands for "Velocity Constant." It means the motor is engineered to spin at an extreme 2700 RPM for every 1 volt of electricity applied to it when unloaded.
Does this motor come with banana plugs attached? No. Unlike lower KV versions, this specific 2700KV model comes with bare, pre-tinned wires. You must solder your own connectors or direct-solder it to your ESC.
Why does it come with bare wires? High-speed builders often prefer to cut wires to exact lengths and direct-solder them to save weight and prevent bulky connectors from coming loose during intense, high-vibration flights.
Can I use a 10-inch propeller on this motor? ABSOLUTELY NOT. The 2700KV motor spins far too fast. A large 10-inch propeller will cause it to pull massive amounts of current, instantly burning out the motor and likely your ESC.
What size propeller is best for the 2700KV version? A 4-inch or 5-inch prop (like a 4045, 5030, or 5x5) is the absolute maximum for a 3S setup to keep the motor from melting.
What size Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) do I need? Because the 2700KV motor pulls incredibly high current, a heavy-duty 40A brushless ESC is required to prevent your electronics from overheating.
Is this motor brushed or brushless? This is a 3-phase brushless outrunner motor. It requires no maintenance brushes and operates with incredible efficiency.
Can I connect this motor directly to a battery? No. Brushless motors require an Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) to turn the DC battery power into 3-phase AC power. A direct connection will instantly destroy the motor.
What is the cross-shaped metal piece used for? That is the aluminum X-mount. It provides a wider, stable 4-hole footprint for bolting the motor securely to an airplane firewall.
What are the four small screws for? They are countersunk machine screws used to bolt the aluminum X-mount tightly to the threaded holes on the bottom of the golden motor casing.
What is the silver bullet-shaped part? That is a collet-style propeller adapter. It grips the bare motor shaft and provides a threaded post to securely lock down your propeller.
What size battery should I use? This motor is highly optimized for 3S (11.1V) LiPo batteries. Ensure your battery has a very high "C-rating" (e.g., 50C or higher) to handle the massive burst current this motor demands.
How do I reverse the direction the motor spins if I direct-solder it? If you direct-solder the wires and the motor spins backward, you can either unsolder and swap any two of the three wires, or use BLHeli/ESC programming software to reverse the motor direction digitally.
Can I put this on a quadcopter? While technically possible on a very small, custom-built high-voltage micro drone, a 2700KV A2212 motor is almost exclusively used for fixed-wing speed planes. It is generally too high-RPM/low-torque for standard quadcopter hovering.
What does "A2212" mean? It is an industry-standard size class, referring to the internal dimensions of the motor (22mm stator diameter, 12mm stator height).
Is a propeller included in this package? No, the package only includes the motor, the X-mount, the mounting screws, and the collet prop adapter.
Is this motor waterproof? No. The copper coils inside the housing are exposed to allow for crucial air cooling. Submerging the motor while powered will cause a short circuit.
How does the prop adapter stay on the smooth motor shaft? It utilizes a compression collet design. The base of the adapter is slotted; as you tighten the top nut down onto your propeller, it forces the slotted base to squeeze tightly onto the smooth motor shaft.
Why are there three wires? Brushless motors operate using 3-phase power dynamically generated by the ESC. The three wires (Red, Black, Yellow) sequence power to the electromagnets inside the bell.
Can I use this 2700KV motor to power an RC car? It is heavily discouraged. Outrunner motors are designed for aircraft where they receive massive cooling airflow from a propeller. Using it inside an RC car chassis will quickly cause it to overheat and fail.
