Versatile 2-DOF pan-tilt kit including two SG90 9g micro servos. Perfect for mounting cameras, ultrasonic sensors, or lasers with a 180° horizontal and 150° vertical range.
Ever wish your robot could actually look at you? This 2-Axis Servo Pan-Tilt Assembly provides the necessary degrees of freedom to turn your static project into a dynamic observer. This kit is a staple for FPV (First Person View) flight, ultrasonic mapping, and computer vision projects where a wide field of view is mandatory.
Probots™ Lab Verified Motion Consistency Generic bracket kits often struggle with "binding"—where the plastic edges catch and cause the servo to jitter or overheat. These kits are Probots™ Lab Verified to ensure the injection-moulded PV Nylon parts are clean of burrs and perfectly aligned with the SG90 gear shafts. This ensures silent, fluid motion that won't burn out your servos during long sessions of autonomous tracking.
Degrees of Freedom (DOF): 2 (Pan and Tilt)
Pan Range: ~180° (Side-to-Side)
Tilt Range: ~150° (Up and Down)
Servos Included: 2 x SG90 9g Analog Micro Servos
Servo Torque: 1.2 kg-cm @ 4.8V
Operating Voltage: 4.8V – 6.0V DC
Material: Lightweight PV Nylon (Black)
Mounting Platform: 38mm x 36mm (Ideal for cameras/sensors)
Base Dimensions: 37mm x 33mm
Weight: 37g (Servos + Brackets)
Face Tracking Cameras: Use with an ESP32-CAM or Raspberry Pi to keep a subject in frame.
Ultrasonic Radar: Mount an HC-SR04 sensor to map out room obstacles in 2D or 3D.
FPV Gimbals: Lightweight enough for drone mounting to stabilise camera footage.
Laser Turrets: Create a remote-controlled laser pointer for playful automation.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
Past Projects: If you've previously glued sensors to the front of a robot, you know how limited their perspective can be.
Feature Upgrade: This assembly transforms a fixed-point sensor into a sweeping scanner. It allows your code to "look around" without having to rotate the entire robot chassis, saving battery and mechanical wear.
Effort Level: Intermediate. Requires minor plastic trimming (sometimes) and assembly with small screws.
Virtual Technician & Tips
Probots™ Logic-Safe Setup: Servos can draw significant current when both moving simultaneously. To prevent your Arduino from resetting, we recommend powering the servos from an external 5V source rather than the Arduino's 5V pin.
Pro Tip: Before final assembly, use your code to set the servos to their center position (90°). This prevents you from accidentally mounting the brackets at the limit of their physical range.
1 x Pan Base Bracket
1 x Tilt Platform Bracket
2 x SG90 9g Micro Servos
2 x Servo Horn Sets
1 x Full Assembly Screw Set
Does it come pre-assembled? No, it comes as a kit and requires assembly.
Can it support a GoPro? It is rated for sensors/cameras up to 500g, but a full-sized GoPro may be too heavy for SG90 servos to move smoothly.
Does it work with MG90S metal gear servos? Yes, the brackets are compatible with both SG90 and MG90S.
Are the servos analog or digital? The included SG90 servos are analog.
What is the maximum horizontal rotation? Approximately 180 degrees.
Can I mount this on a drone? Yes, it is very lightweight (37g), making it ideal for hobby drones.
Do I need a special driver? No, any microcontroller that can output a PWM signal can control these servos.
What material is it made of? PV Nylon plastic, which is durable and lightweight.
Are the screws included? Yes, a full screw hardware pack is included in the package.
Does it fit the ESP32-CAM? Yes, the top platform is 38mm x 36mm, which fits most small camera modules.
Can I use 3.3V to power it? No, these servos require at least 4.8V to operate reliably.
What happens if I try to rotate it past 180? The internal mechanical stop of the servo will prevent it; forcing it will strip the gears.
Is it waterproof? No, this is an indoor/hobby-grade kit.
How do I fix the servos to the brackets? They are secured using the included small Phillips head screws.
Does the kit include an ultrasonic sensor? No, sensors must be purchased separately.
Can I use continuous rotation servos with this? Yes, but you will lose position control (it will become a speed-controlled gimbal).
Is it anti-vibration? Nylon provides some natural damping, but it is not a dedicated brushless stabilized gimbal.
What tools do I need for assembly? A small Phillips head (cross-point) screwdriver.
How long are the servo wires? Standard SG90 wires are roughly 15cm to 20cm long.
Can I replace the plastic servos with metal gear ones? Yes, the mounting pattern is identical.
