Secure your LiPo power lines with the Black XT150 Female Connector. Rated for 150A continuous current, this set pairs a precision 6mm gold-plated female socket with the standard 8mm black nylon battery housing. Perfect for safe, high-draw Negative (-) battery terminals.
150 Amps of Unrestricted Grounding. When your massive 1/5 scale basher or heavy-lift drone demands power, standard connectors will melt under the strain. The XT150 system utilises a precision-machined 6mm gold-plated female socket. When mated with the expanding male prong, it creates an enormous surface area of contact, dropping electrical resistance to practically zero. This allows your battery pack's Negative (-) terminal to safely handle up to 150A of continuous current without the connector heating up or failing.
The 8mm "Battery Side" Safety Standard Unlike the 10mm housings used on the ESC side, this set includes the Black 8mm High-Temp Nylon Housing. This is the universally accepted standard for battery terminals. Because the 8mm housing is slightly narrower and shorter, it slides inside the mating 10mm housing when plugged together. More importantly, it allows the female metal socket to sit deeply recessed inside the plastic shroud. If your battery bumps against a metal workbench or carbon fiber chassis, the recessed live terminal cannot easily short-circuit against the surface.
Clear Black Identification & Modularity The stealthy black housing provides immediate visual confirmation that this is the Negative (-) or Ground line, which is critical when assembling complex series or parallel battery wiring harnesses. Furthermore, the XT150 system is fully modular. The outside of the black 8mm housing features interlocking dovetail grooves, allowing you to snap it together with a Red 8mm housing to create a unified, dual-pin battery plug that handles massive loads but offers far more routing flexibility for stiff 8 AWG wires!
Note: While XT150 male and female pins mechanically fit into both the 8mm and 10mm housings for custom wiring, doing so deviates from standard RC safety conventions. If you choose to use these connectors outside their preferred application, you must implement strict insulation precautions to prevent severe short circuits.

1 x XT150 Female (Socket) Gold-Plated Bullet Connector
1 x XT150 Black Nylon 8mm Shroud Housing

What does "Female" mean in this specific XT150 listing? It refers to the metal connector pin itself. The female pin is a hollow socket (or cup) designed to securely receive the male pronged pin.
Why is this female socket paired with an 8mm housing instead of a 10mm housing? The 8mm housing is the global safety standard for Battery side connections. It is thinner so it can slide inside the 10mm ESC housing, and it keeps the live female metal socket deeply recessed to prevent accidental short circuits.
Why is the housing Black? Black is the universal electrical standard for indicating a Negative (-) DC power or Ground line. It helps prevent reverse polarity short-circuits during assembly and charging.
What is the maximum continuous current this connector can handle? The XT150 system is rated for an immense 150 Amps of continuous current.
What wire gauge (AWG) is compatible with this connector? The deep solder cup at the back of the 6mm bullet comfortably accepts thick 10 AWG or 8 AWG silicone wire.
Can I put a male pronged pin inside this 8mm housing? CRITICAL WARNING: While it physically fits, you should never do this. The male prong is too long for the 8mm housing and will protrude past the plastic edge. If used on a live battery, this creates an extreme shock and fire hazard.
How do I install the metal socket into the plastic housing? Solder your wire to the metal bullet cup first. Once cooled, push the bullet into the back of the plastic housing (the end with the stepped, circular opening) until it snaps firmly into the internal retaining ridge.
Can I pull the metal pin back out of the plastic housing if I make a mistake? It is extremely difficult. The housing is designed for a permanent, one-way snap-fit. You will usually have to cut or destroy the plastic housing to salvage the metal bullet.
Can I connect this Black housing to a Red housing? Yes! The outside of the plastic housings features dovetail rails and slots. You can slide a Black and Red housing together side-by-side to create a custom, unified Positive/Negative connector block.
Why use individual XT150s instead of a single block connector like an XT90? Thick 8 AWG wires are very stiff. Single-pole connectors allow you to route positive and negative wires independently in tight chassis, reducing physical strain on your battery packs.
What kind of soldering iron is required? Due to the large mass of the 6mm brass bullet and the thickness of 8 AWG wire, you need a high-power soldering iron (minimum 60W, preferably 80W+) with a large chisel tip to heat the joint quickly.
Should I "tin" the wire before putting it in the solder cup? Yes. Always use flux and fully tin the exposed copper wire. You should also melt a small pool of solder inside the bullet's cup before inserting the heated wire for a perfect joint.
Do I need to use heat shrink tubing? While the plastic housing fully covers the electrical joint, adding a short piece of black heat shrink tubing over the base of the wire where it enters the housing provides excellent strain relief.
Is the XT150 connector waterproof? No. While the nylon housing provides physical protection, the connection is not sealed against water or heavy moisture.
What is the plastic housing made of? It is made of high-temperature nylon, which resists melting during the soldering process and withstands the high ambient heat of RC operations.
Can I use this connector for 110V/220V AC household power? Absolutely not. These are designed strictly for low-voltage, high-current DC applications (such as 12V to 60V battery systems).
Why is it so hard to pull these connectors apart? The 6mm male prongs are designed to exert heavy outward pressure against this female socket to maintain near-zero resistance. Always pull firmly by grasping the plastic housings, never by pulling on the wires.
Can I plug an XT90 or XT60 into an XT150? No. The XT150 is a completely different 6mm bullet ecosystem and is physically incompatible with XT60 or XT90 connectors.
What is the exact diameter of the metal bullet? The XT150 system utilizes a 6mm bullet connector design.
Can I reuse the gold female socket after soldering it? If the socket was never snapped into the plastic housing, you can carefully heat it, remove the old wire, and reuse it. However, once it is locked inside the nylon shroud, it is meant to be permanent.
