Industrial 12-channel electronic lock driver board. Supports 12V to 24V DC store cabinet locks, features robust RS485 multi-channel communication, and includes a 5-position DIP switch for cascading multiple units.
Centralised command for ultra-high-density multi-door security. The LockIT 24-Channel Electronic Lock Controller is the ultimate backbone for modern, massive-scale smart store cabinet systems. Expanding significantly on standard 8- and 12-channel designs, this unified board (SN-24LOCK-WS) provides 24 clean, independently addressable DC output channels (labelled CH01 through CH24) designed to drive robust 12V or 24V solenoid cabinet locks, significantly reducing required wiring and hardware footprints in dense locker banks.
Industrial RS485 Networking and Addressing. Designed for massive scalability, this board uses the robust RS485 protocol, which is highly resistant to electrical noise and can transmit data reliably over hundreds of meters. If your project requires more than 24 doors, you can daisy-chain multiple boards together using the dedicated 6-pin input and loop-through headers on the left side of the board.
To ensure your host PC or microcontroller knows exactly which board it is talking to, the PCB features a 5-position red DIP switch. This allows you to set a unique hardware address for up to 32 individual boards on the same RS485 bus using 32 unique binary combinations. With 32 boards connected, you gain the ability to control an astounding 768 distinct locks from a single serial port! The onboard IAP microcontroller handles the translation of the hex commands into physical lock triggers, while the dedicated buck converter ensures stable logic power is derived safely from your main 12V-24V power supply.
Operating Voltage: 12V to 24V DC (Input voltage dictates output voltage for the locks)
Output Channels: 24 x 2-Pin DC outputs (CH01 - CH24)
Communication Protocol: RS485 (Hexadecimal command structure)
Cascading/Addressing: 5-Bit hardware DIP switch (Supports up to 32 cascaded boards)
Drive Capability: Designed for standard 12V or 24V 1A-2A solenoid locks
Logic Processor: IAP series 8-bit MCU
Power/Data Interface: 2 x 6-Pin Molex/ATX style connectors for flexible input and loop-through wiring
Downloads:
Massive Smart Lockers: Building large Amazon-style apartment complex delivery systems or retail pickup stations where a central touchscreen PC opens specific locker doors via RS485 commands.
Automated Vending Solutions: Triggering up to 24 specific product drop bays in custom smart-vending kiosks from a single board.
Gym and Theme Park Storage: Managing hundreds of daily-use storage lockers with centralized RFID/Barcode authentication.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution)
Massive Network Expansion: Transition from a single 24-door setup to a massive 768-door array by simply linking more boards together and flipping the red DIP switches to unique addresses.
Power Automation: Pair this 24-channel board with a heavy-duty 24V 20A+ SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) to ensure you have enough overhead current to actuate heavy solenoid locks reliably.
Package Includes:
1 x LockIT 24CH 12V-24V Electronic Lock Controller Board (RS485)
1 x 4-Wire Communication Cable (Black/Red/Yellow/Green)
What is the main purpose of this board? It is designed to actuate (open) up to 24 separate 12V or 24V electronic cabinet locks or solenoids from a single data line.
What communication protocol does it use? It uses RS485 serial communication, making it highly reliable over long distances and noisy electrical environments.
What is the operating voltage? The board requires a 12V to 24V DC power supply. The input voltage you provide is exactly what is sent to the locks.
Will my 12V locks work if I use a 24V power supply? No. The board routes your input voltage directly to the outputs. If you use a 24V power supply, you must use 24V locks. If you use a 12V power supply, you must use 12V locks.
What are the CH01 to CH24 connectors? These are the twenty-four 2-pin JST-style output headers where you plug in your electronic store cabinet locks.
What is the red switch with numbers 1 through 5? That is a 5-position DIP switch used to assign a unique hardware address to the board on your RS485 network.
How many boards can I connect together? With the 5-bit DIP switch, you can set up to 32 unique addresses, allowing you to daisy-chain up to 32 boards together for a total of 768 locks.
Can it control 5V locks? No, the board routes the 12V-24V input directly to the outputs. It is specifically designed for higher-voltage solenoid locks.
Do I need an Arduino or PC to use this? Yes, the board is a "slave" device. It requires a "master" host (like an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or PC) to send it the proper RS485 hexadecimal commands to open the doors.
What is the large square chip on the board? That is the main IAP microcontroller. It listens to the RS485 data line, checks if the incoming address matches its DIP switch, and fires the corresponding lock.
Why are there two larger white connectors on the left? These are 6-pin ATX-style power and data connectors. They provide flexible options to input your main power and RS485 lines, and to loop those connections out to the next board in the daisy chain.
Can I plug this directly into my computer's USB port? No, standard USB does not output RS485. You must use a USB-to-RS485 adapter.
Does this board tell me if the door is physically open or closed? No, these specific 2-pin CH outputs only provide power to pop the lock open. Door state feedback requires locks with extra sensor wires and a separate input board.
How long can the RS485 communication cable be? RS485 can theoretically run up to 1200 meters, making it perfect for massive banks of store cabinets.
What is the maximum current per channel? The onboard driver components are typically rated to handle the standard 1A to 2A burst current required to pop a solenoid lock.
Can I open all 24 locks at the exact same time? It is highly discouraged. Solenoid locks draw a massive spike of current when actuating. Popping 24 locks simultaneously requires a massive power supply and risks blowing fuses. It is standard practice to program a slight delay (e.g., 100ms) between each lock actuation.
What is the default baud rate? You will need to check the specific manufacturer's datasheet for the hex protocol, but these boards typically default to 9600 bps.
What is the onboard button for? There is a small tactile button on the board designed for testing purposes, which can manually actuate locks or trigger a full test cycle without RS485 commands.
Does the board come with the wiring harnesses? No, this listing is for the bare controller board only. You will need to acquire or crimp your own JST and ATX-style mating connectors.
Is there built-in reverse polarity protection? While the power regulation section has some protections, it is absolutely critical to wire your input power correctly to the 6-pin headers to avoid instantly destroying the ICs.
