A3 Self-Healing Cutting Mat 3mm Non-Slip Grid Pad 450 mm x 300 mm ₹399.00 500°C Extreme Heat Resistance The primary function of this mat is workstation preservation. Manufactured from high-grade, fireproof silicone, the S-160 can endure direct contact with temperatures up to 500°C (932°F). Whether you accidentally drop a bead of molten Sn63/Pb37 solder, knock over your 350°C soldering iron, or blast the mat with a hot air rework station while replacing a surface-mount IC, the silicone will not bubble, melt, or emit toxic smoke. It acts as an impenetrable thermal barrier for your wooden or plastic desk underneath.
Ultimate Workflow Organization Taking apart a modern smartphone or drone involves dozens of microscopic screws of varying lengths. Putting the wrong screw back into the wrong hole can puncture a motherboard. This mat eliminates that risk. It features a massive 124-position numbered screw grid, allowing you to map out your teardown process step-by-step. Additionally, it features three lidded boxes (A, B, C) for securing tiny springs or brackets, upright holding slots for screwdrivers, and multiple recessed bins for larger components.
Magnetic Retention Zones A bump to the desk usually sends tiny screws flying onto the carpet, never to be seen again. The S-160 features specifically engineered magnetic zones embedded directly into the silicone. When you drop your ferrous screws, brackets, or shields into these designated areas, they snap to the surface and stay put, even if the mat is jostled.

Key Applications and Projects
Mobile Device Teardowns: Keeping track of the exact location of iPhone/Android internal screws using the numbered grid while applying hot air to soften screen adhesive.
Custom PCB Assembly: Providing a high-friction, heat-safe surface to place a blank motherboard while you hand-solder through-hole components like capacitors and pin headers.
RC Drone Building: Organizing motors, standoffs, and tiny M2/M3 screws while soldering thick battery leads that require prolonged, high-heat iron contact.
Unlock New Capabilities (Project Evolution) The Portable Maker Station: Do you lack a dedicated workshop and have to solder at the kitchen table? Evolve your workflow! Because this premium silicone has zero "memory," you can roll it up tightly like a yoga mat and stuff it into a backpack alongside a portable TS100 soldering iron and a USB-C power bank. When you unroll it at the kitchen table, a friend's house, or a maker space, it lays perfectly flat instantly, converting any surface into a professional, heat-safe, organized electronics laboratory in under 10 seconds!
1 x S-160 Magnetic Silicone Repair Mat (450mm x 300mm, Blue)
1. What are the exact dimensions of this mat? The S-160 model measures exactly 450mm in length and 300mm in width (approximately 17.7 inches by 11.8 inches).
2. The title says 450x350mm, why the discrepancy? Many generic listings use 450x350mm as a rough estimate for SEO, but the factory schematics and physical molds for the S-160 are precisely 450x300mm. We want to ensure you have the exact dimensions for your desk planning.
3. Is the entire mat magnetic? No. If the entire mat were magnetic, it would be difficult to handle sensitive components. Only specific, labeled zones (usually marked "magnetic") contain embedded magnets to hold your screws.
4. Will it melt if I drop molten solder on it? No! High-grade silicone is extremely heat resistant. A bead of molten solder will simply sit on the surface, cool down into a solid ball, and can be easily brushed away without leaving a burn mark.
5. Can I use a hot air rework station directly on this mat? Yes. The mat is rated up to 500°C. Most hot air stations operate between 250°C and 400°C. You can safely blast hot air onto a board resting on this mat.
6. Does it smell like strong rubber or chemicals? New silicone mats may have a very faint "factory" smell when first unwrapped, but it is not pungent like cheap rubber. The smell dissipates entirely within a day or two of being exposed to open air.
7. Is it safe for sensitive electronics (ESD safe)? Yes, the silicone formulation has anti-static properties designed to prevent the buildup and discharge of static electricity, protecting delicate ICs and microprocessors from ESD damage.
8. How do I clean flux or solder paste off of it? Silicone is chemically resistant. You can easily scrub sticky flux residue, thermal paste, or solder splatter off the mat using a rag soaked in 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) or standard warm soapy water.
9. Can I roll it up for storage? Absolutely. It is highly flexible and can be rolled up tightly for storage in a drawer or tool bag.
10. Will it curl or warp after being rolled up for a long time? No. High-quality silicone has zero "memory." The moment you unroll it, it will immediately lay perfectly flat against your desk without curled edges.
11. What are the small numbered squares for? That is the screw positioning grid (numbered 1 through 124). When taking apart a device, you place the screws in the grid in the exact order you removed them. This ensures you put them back in the correct holes, preventing you from driving a long screw into a short hole and destroying a motherboard.
12. What are the three boxes at the top left? Those are physical, lidded storage compartments (Parts boxes A, B, and C). They are perfect for securing components that might bounce or roll away, like tiny springs, camera lenses, or tactile buttons.
13. What are the holes along the top edge used for? Those are tool supply slots. You can stick your screwdrivers and tweezers upright into those holes so they are always within arm's reach and not rolling around on your workspace.
14. Is the bottom of the mat slip-resistant? Yes. The natural friction of the silicone grips incredibly well to wood, glass, metal, and plastic desks, ensuring the mat does not slide around while you are trying to hold a steady hand.
15. Can I cut on it with a craft knife? While the mat is "anti-scratch" against standard tools like tweezers and screwdriver tips, a sharp X-Acto or craft knife will slice into the silicone. It is a soldering mat, not a self-healing cutting mat.
16. Does the ruler measure in inches or centimeters? The built-in ruler along the bottom edge is graduated in centimeters and millimeters, measuring from 0 to 36cm.
17. Are the magnets strong enough to hold heavy tools? The magnets are calibrated to hold small, lightweight ferrous objects like tiny M2 screws, metal brackets, and washers. They are not designed to hold heavy hand tools like pliers or large wrenches.
18. Will the blue color stain over time? Over years of heavy use, you may get some minor discoloration from burnt flux or permanent markers, but the dark blue color generally hides dirt and standard workshop grime very well.
19. Is this mat thick enough to protect a wooden desk? Yes. The base layer is a few millimeters thick, and the structural ridges make it thicker. It provides excellent thermal insulation, preventing the heat of a resting soldering iron from transferring through to the wood below.
20. Can I wash it in the sink? Yes. Because it is completely waterproof silicone, if it gets extremely dusty or covered in grease, you can take it to the sink and wash it with dish soap and warm water. Ensure it is completely dry before placing live electronics on it.
