The secret to professional PCB stacking. Standard female headers have short legs that are barely long enough to solder. The 2x40 Pin PC104 Stacking Header is different. It features Extra-Long 11mm Tails that extend all the way through your PCB, allowing you to plug another header or socket onto the bottom. This "Pass-Through" design is essential for building modular systems like PC104 stacks, Arduino Shields, or multi-layer control boards.
PC104 Style Reliability Modelled after the rugged PC104 industrial standard, these double-row connectors ensure a solid mechanical and electrical connection between stacked boards. You can cut them to size (carefully) to fit smaller stacking needs like 2x10 or 2x20.

Clearance: Ensure the 11mm tails don't short out against components on the board below. Use standoffs (spacers) to maintain the correct gap.
