This is a easy to use light sensor based on the BH1750FVI IC. It is a digital Ambient Light Sensor having I2C interface. This IC is the suitable for obtaining the ambient light data. It is possible to detect wide range of light intensity at high resolution. It is a popular IC with ready libraries and sample codes available, which makes it easy to use in custom projects.

This is a BH1750 light intensity sensor breakout board with a 16 bit AD converter built-in which can directly output a digital signal, there is no need for complicated calculations or additional circuitry. This is a more acurate and easier to use version of the simple LDR which only outputs a voltage that needs additional data in order to obtain meaningful data. The sensor outputs light values directly in Lux (Lx).
